I'm 33 with a sensible family hatch - '07 Leon Cupra:D

My two month old daughter seems to like it as she always goes to sleep in it.

Sheesh! Just been quoted £585 by Admiral for Fully Comp. That's for a 52 yr. old, no claims and max NCB! :(

did you ask what the actual discount was ?? ;)

£5 says they stutter and mumble and recalcualte before you get an answer

my favourite game asking a full quote then asking what discount per year over how many years then working it out different to what they quote and asking em why they cant add up :):):)

I'm 33 and pick up my Candy White Leon FR TDi on Sep 1.........

I think some people thought I was having a mid-life crisis (they called it a MenaPorsche) when I bought my 911 right after my 30th birthday :D

Most people I have spoken to about the Leon have said they think it's a good choice, same mechanicals as the Golf/A3 but better looking and for a better price

Im with admiral mate the best for price by far give it a try! and its in my name :) and cost me £1250 for 9 months with a thousand pounds excess. let us no how you did

I'm 40, FR tdi. I think sometimes people wish they'd made a more inspired choice! You can have it all with this car.

I am 35 and don't think age makes a difference, besides my wife drives the car most of the time and she keeps telling me she is 21 ;) though being old & a driving instructor is great for cheap insurance :)

I'm 42, picked up my 2.0 Tdi DSG Leon Sport on Saturday as a first small family car - I've "inherited" a 13 year old in this relationship who no longer fits comfortably in the back of the Mk1 A3. By far the best solution for the money - stylsh, sporty and individual. I reckon I'm the right age for the car. My mid life crisis car is the 3.2 V6 Mk1 TT sat on the drive !!
Love the forum

id pay that too, but for a 12 month premium at 19 with 1yrs ncb brings a asking price of 3200 on a FR.

20 next year and 2 yrs NCB should hopefully allow me to get a leon cupra, and insure it for under 3 grand.

I'm 36 and have a luna grey FR with black BBS wheels, lowered and re mapped. You're never too old. Have a 44 yr old mate who has a hawk eye STi Impreza. Is planning to take it to Scooby Clinic for new turbo etc and has all the top mods on it, front splitter, Rota wheels, lowered, sub and double din head unit. He doesn't care what people think as long as he's happy. Adopt his attitude. If it feels right then it probably is!!

I'm 52 and had an FR TD for just over 4 months, engines alright if you don't mind the harshness but some days the suspension does my head in, in fact I'm going to the dentist this week to get my fillings put back in. The only problem I've had is that I sometimes drive like an idiot when really I should be smoking a pipe and wearing my slippers but hell it makes me smile!

im 22 and picking up a FR on friday...

Elephant, admiral etc all the same company will give the best prices on insurance.

£1388 for me on the FR and i have had 2 claims....was £935 on a type r.

07 2.0tdi 140 leon full bodykit, 18" alloys, hella lights, and stereo claimed.

Passed test 2 years, 1 year NCB, no claims or points, insured with elephant for £1200.
Also a suzuki SV 650 (0-60 in 3.5 secs!) £420 couldnt beleive how much cheaper bike insurance is for the power!

Tip: Put yourself as first driver, add a older women and man (parents, grandparents) with alot of driving experience prefereably, millage 3000-4000 (they ask for estimate :D) and parked in street (will bell and elephant quotes)

Im not kidding when I put that in it almost halved my insurance! Try it for yourselves but the older you are the less of a drop it will be.
