Why don't you stop posting and come back tomorrow and see how many threads and posts are waiting for you. Usage is unchanged from what I can gather. Remember to there maybe a fall off on the forums of some chit chat. This may now start to move into the social groups now.

But we'll monitor it but considering the numbers still logging on and new registrations heading for a 100 this month already ie just in September alone. I'm not concerned in the slightest. ;)

Fair enough matey, you guys probably work hard enough as is. But surely you should be wanting the maximum amount of fellow SCN forum members posting at all costs? ;)

*I will send you the bill when my boss sacks me ;)*

maximum number of people posting?

I don't have the time to redevelop another skin - it's literally (for me) hundreds of hours which I just don't have.

then everytime I make a tweek, I have to do twice as much work, twice as much testing.

I view SCN at work and no one has moaned at me .... although the last time they did moan about my internet usage, the proxy that THEY use for internet access had a most unreliable week - no more moaning :)

I like the change, it's bright, fresh ... easy to read and a marked improvement over the old skin. I still haven't found any show stoppers or even minor glitches.

Having had a day or so to tinker and play, it's still very much thumbs up here :)

I think those of you moaning about not being able to use it at work because someone might see it on the screen should stop moaning! At my current job you have to get special permission even to access the net, and ALL internet useage is monitored and you can be disciplined for visiting a non-work site even only once.

So quit it, alright? ;)

Anyway, I've found another glitch, but its just another alignment one - my PM composing/replying screen is completely offset to the right by an entire screens width. Guessing these are just bugs which will be ironed out in a little while though :)

i agree with you to a point nic, but some people dont have access to internet at home (a very small minority)

but whatever, go to a library if you cant view at work :)

Well I think the upgrade is great. Nice and fresh. To top it all off it has all gone through with the minimal amount of fuss.

Now do you fancy have a go at tackling and integrating the NHS system? :duck:

Admin deserves a beer or two. Thank you.

Hundreds of hours to develop a plain skin? Hmm...maybe I've been misinformed. I read on another forum some guy that developed one in an evening. I don't know the circumstances/complexities though or forum software used so might be different.

Not just one skin though, every time something is upgraded or recoded in the software, it means twice as much work to make sure multiple skins conform. Frankly if someone has their own forum and is happy to faff about and change stuff then that's their prerogative isn't it.

I think you maybe under some illusion that this forum is a business and we spend every waking hour servicing it and the people who use it. Since we began the forum way back in 2001 it has been foremost a hobby and something we enjoy to do. But the minute it becomes a job and people start to make demands it ceases to be fun and enjoyable.

We have real lives and careers outside this place that take priority over everything else.

Now it maybe quite simple to make alterations and have other skins running, but frankly we neither have the inclination or the time to do that.
