front mounted intercooler

hey i have a dodgy intercooler which i have to change. a cooler from scrapper is costing me 80quid then fitting but i have seen a front mounted one on ebay for £200 which doesnt seem that much more! does any one know if they r up to much, easy fitted or how much diff will it make?! would love the forge but it kinda outta my league at min! cheers lads!

the standard intercoolers are easy to fit . look on the forge site for guides to remove the front bumper and follow it from there.. with regards for the e bay fmic im sure there will be alot of work involved ie. the crash bar will need to be changed new pipes etc

A friend bought a front mount kit from ebay for his mrk4 golf. The kit was awefull, nothing aligned and some of the pipes didn't look as tho they were for his car. You get what you pay for

What side of SMIC you looking for, I've got one you can have for way less than that.
Mine is the drivers side, or offside

what other fmic kits are there out there? apart from forge cus im looking for one but havent got like 800quid? can manage around 400 at the min!

What car do you have and what are your aspirations for it?
A FMIC is really only benificial in the summer when the ambient temperature is high and the boost is suffering.
This time of the year you should have no problems unless your running Big Turbo applications.
Unless your going BT I would save your money for summat else

have the cupra 1.8 20v which was mapped and diff things done before i got it. done rolling road an it bout 230brake so nothing to mad! dont think be doin that much more to it, this was just an idea when have to fix the old cooler an wasnt sure bout power gains etc. mates all thought it would make big diff but knew yous would know more!! how much would ub looking for yours?? mines is the drivers side?
