Leon rear washer

Is it just mine or is the power of the rear washer on the Leon's very poor? Mine seems to reach about 2 inches up the window (and why "up" - why not put the jet at the top of the window somewhere so gravity can help!! I mean come on!!)..

can you not just adjust the nozzle with a needle?

I'm going to have a go adjusting the jets but the strength of it just seems really weak..

I have this problem too on my LCR. Poor rear jets. I could spit further!

Yep mine too I just put a good coat of rain-x on the window and have given up with the washer

There is an issue with the rear washers on leons where an 'L' shaped connector in the water pipe comes loose. It is located behind the n/s (passenger) trim panel in the boot. Did mine a few weeks ago and its miles better. used some insulation tape to make sure it doesnt happen again.

Also, If you all check under your boot carpet on the passenger side.... wet ? it also causes wet boot floor as it leaks down onto the carpet.

Thanks.. I'd read about the connector coming loose but since the washers do work, albeit very poorly, it obviously hasn't come off.. thanks for the post though

You're loosing pressure somewhere though so might be worth checking it out.

Pretty sure that the rear washer hose is wrapped in a fabric tape inside the cars wiring harness so if they've wrapped the tape too tight in even one or a couple of places then its going to effect the pressure of it so unless you want to unwrap the whole harness then i think you'll have to live with it lol

I'm tempted to re-route the tubing and stick the washer jet above the rear screen.. wonder how feasible that is..

If there is a filter going to the rear from the washer bottle that may be blocked.

Yeh thats what i thought mate but they dont come off completely just are not fully locked in which causes the pressure to escape. mine was exactly the same, it come out just very poor pressure. I would be very suprised if it isnt this as its very common and i suggest checking this first. only takes a few mins and some phillips screws to get the panel off an check

Mine was pretty poor - then I had the common leakage, spraying washer fluid all over the boot electrics. Then me alarm was constantly going off because the car thought the boot was open. Anyway took it to Seat and they fixed it under warranty. It came back so much better - that was about 8months ago and it still goes about 3/4 up the rear windscreen!! Check ya pipes dude!!!

Pipes will be checked this weekend hopefully it's something as simple as that..
