If u don't already have xenon's the I'll need a hid conversion kit. The bulbs themselves are easy to change. I believe the manual is refering to factory fit xenons which are totally different and über expensive. Try hids4u.co.uk or hids-direct.co.uk. They do kits for. Our cars. I've got a Japanese MTEC hid kit from hids-direct, but a lot of guys here have hids4u kits and love them. There fairly simple to fit too.

Yes - my current bulbs are standard halogen. I think I need a conversion kit in addition to Xenon bulbs if I want to upgrade. Sounds like something else I could botch so I think I will leave well alone.
xenon gas filiment bulbs are a good place to start. Osram nightbreakers or philips extreme power are a good intermediate b4 jumping to a conversion kit. Personal I felt I needed something to get more light on the road and with winter coming(more night driving) I bought a hid conversion kit.
If u don't fancy the kits u may find the xenon filiment bulbs are enough. There not that expensive either so it could be worth trying first.

So what is the difference between a Xenon filiment bulb & Xenon conversion kit bulb? What does the conversion kit actually do?
Xenon filament bulbs are like halogen bulbs but filled with xenon gas. They are about 70-90% brighter than halogen bulbs and it's a straigt swap when it comes to changing.
Hid conversion kits on the other hand are filled with xenon gas but no filament. These kits also have a ballast (a block of electronics) which sits outside the headlight unit. Fittings these kits requires u to drill a hole in the back of the headlight cover for the wiring. It may seem like hassle but 3 times more light on the road is the reward.
Kits range from £70-200. Mine were £160 as I wanted jap quality. Rule of thumb the more u pay the better the quality of kit.

Headlights and beams not too tricky, however the worse part for me was putting in the indicator bulbs, my rediculously large hands were shredded and bruised all over from trying to gain access past some sharp plastic pieces. Fog lights were a doddle just incase you need to do those in future. There's a few good guides on here if you search for 'headlights'.
