Sill guards anyone?

Evening all...has anyone fitted the standard stainless steel front sill guards to their Leon yet? I'd like to know how close they get to the edge of the sill. A pic or measurement would great if anyone could be bothered!

Thought about buying them, more for the function rather than looks but ive just spent this months pennies on firstly the car then on a new tyre and alloy repair after having a close encounter with a kerb.

Are the black ones offical SEAT? ive not seen them in the accessory catalogue.

I like the stainless ones. Are these a dealer option, or can they be sought elsewhere at a slightly less cost where re-mortgaging isn't required?

i bought the black ones from ebay germany think they cost £50, they are good but a word of warning when you fit them, the sticky plastic understand is the strongest stuff i have ever seen one it has touched the car then its stuck I rushed one and it doesnt fit perfect so take your time!!

I am tempted to get the black ones but at £50 a pop its a bit steep but maybe I should drop big hints since Christmas is around the corner.
