Ebay seems to have quite a few people who have s3's and upgraded the brakes. You will need the calipers though to accommodate the thicker disc

Just ordered TTmk1 front/rear discs and a 312mm carrier. Im just confused as to the rears now as im looking at some mk4 golf anni calipers/carriers and im unsure if they bolt straight on. I thought they would of but been told might need a spacer for them to line up

With the rear there are 2 sorts of carrier I believe one that needs spaces to aline the disc and the other dosent.

I fitted aniversary carriers brought from vag parts and cupra R calipers from Big Red, both companies are very helpful. No spacers needed.

I would not go down the 2nd hand route to be honest unless you find a good set cheap, thats covered very few miles, but these tended to go for more than buying new when i was doing my conversion.

Make sure you get some good pads and discs for the front or you are wasting your time.

Cheers for the advice MattFrench i am looking for prices for new anni calipers/carriers (Got a price from Vagparts and waiting on one rom Badger5). Going to be using

FRONT- 312mm CRN grooved discs and ferodo ds2500 pads and 312mm carrier

Rear- 256mm CRN grooved discs and Pagid pads and golf anni caliper/carrier

Going to get some decent brake fluid and steel lines in at some point aswell

Does this sound like a decent set up???

Did mine the other week feels really good car stops quickly the only problem it has shown how crap my tires actually are with the amount of ABS action I have when braking.

Yep definitely a good setup. I echo what Ollie asked, did you buy the rear calipers and carriers new or second hand?

This is what i'm going for, aparently a very good setup for approx 200BHP on a heavy tdi lump.

I'm not too worried about my rear ones at mo, i'd start using the handbrake in the wrong way. :headhurt:

Dont have the rear calipers/carriers yet as getting new ones hoping to have it all in the next 2weeks then ill post pics and a break down of prices.

Thats what im wanting, around 200bhp from my tdi so thought best to start with the brakes 1st
