Evening all,

I have just got the urge to write a post about how much I am enjoying the car at the moment, I have got a 08 TFSI Fr with a few toys and I love it to bits. I have had it since the end of aug and it now has 8k on the clock and touch wood I haven't had a single problem at all.

Every time I get out the car i can't help but have a quick look back at her, and I still love watching the lights do their self test thing. How sad am i! lol

As for driving it i love it even more, I do a lot of miles and most of it is on the motorway and i am really impressed with the mpg I am getting out of her too, compared to my old mk1 cupra the tfsi is so much better on fuel. I have done a 360 round trip today with a bit of traffic and the speedo hasn't been far off 80 and I have returned a average of 33.2 I am dead happy with that. It does down a bit when i have a funny five mins but hey what's the point of having a 2.0T without having a bit of fun! :D

With the current credit situation as everyone keeps banging on about the car is the only thing that can put a smile on faces at the moment!

I just thought I would post a positive post about enjoying the car!

Anyone else happy with their car?

Cheers,
Si

Simon,

Glad you are enjoying the car after all your problems with the FR TDI. I switched from a Tdi Sport to a Cupra and havn't looked back.

Cheers,

Did you notice I didn't even mention the Fr TDi lol, I am sure it's a good car when it works etc but I must have had a friday afternoon car so to speak.

I do love the tfsi though, it's rapid. God know's what the cupra with a map on is like!

Glad your enjoying it Simon, I started a similar thread a while back cos i was fed up with all the moaning ones.... I still love my Leon (and its a TDI FR)
Nice to know you had the faith to stick with the Leon and it worked out ok, unfortunately you only chose the 2nd faster colour but apart from that perfect...

Cheers mate,

That's kind of why i wrote this, you dont get enough of it on a lot of fourms really, a lot of people go on just to find out about a problem they are having etc.

The car is great and my dealer etc have also been great!

not driven mine in a couple of weeks as i've swapped with the missus to save piling the miles onto it. its parked on my drive right now and looking forward to taking it out later on! not driving it as often makes it much more rewarding i think, i was falling out of love with it but i guess this is just what i needed - the dullness of my wife's golf makes for a happy medium!!!

I feel the same, still really enjoying my DSG FR TFSI. Family and friends are impressed with it also, especially for the price.

Im still loving my Cupra as 11 months of ownership. Problem is I dont drive it enough!!!! I've only done 5,500 miles in 11 months!!!

I suppose the change in jobs since last August has made the biggest difference. I used to do between 15,000 to 20,000 per year.

This saving in fuel has made my perfect excuse for me buying some 19" BBS CK wheels which should be arriving this week.

Forgot to mention that the only problem I have with mine is a very boomy exhaust when your slowing down between 2,000rpm to 1,000rpm.

It's probably the baffles in the back box, so I get this checked out when it goes in for it's yearly service this weekend.

I hated my FR when it turned up to replace my Focus ST..it has grown on me just needs a few more personal touches

Why was it inferior to the ST?

No leather Recaros,
No 5 pot burble, just the rumble of the derv.
No xenon lights as standard,
Sony stereo far superior in the ST
The brakes are better on the ST
The looks of the FR have grown on me
From 270bhp/330lbft ST to 168bhp/250lbft FR.

The FR is easier to live with as its got cruise control, and it looks good as a five door which imo the ST would not. The biggest reason to change tho is the fact i was throwing £60 a week minimum away on petrol.

I like mine...I do miss the theatre of my old Rover turbo though...the derv rattle is not really comparable lol
