Just a quick post to say how chuffed I am with my newly acquired runabout which my g/f owned before getting her new Mini yesterday there.

Its the 1.6 S 16v model on a 2000 reg plate, and it is the only car I have ever scanned on VAGCOM that never shows any errors other than when the temp sensor needed changed a few months ago.

Very definitely worth considering if you are looking for a solid and reliable car. It is adequately fast with its 100bhp engine, its reasonable on fuel, and its comfortable. Most of all it has never let us down.

Big thumbs up :)

The leon s models are brilliant. I had the 1.4s 75bhp for 4 years and it never missed a beat (other than standard coilpack failure!). Hope it remains running well :)

Sunny Scotland
Richard Cooper of Polished Bliss had one too that he loved.
He'd sorted out the suspension and brakes too.

His one was 135 BHP thought??
Dunno how if it was supposed to be 100 BHP for a start

Mine defo hasna got 135bhp Willie but I think it would give her Mini Pooper a good chase in a straight line although it wouldna stand a chance in the corners.....

Get yourself upper and lower front strut braces and a Koni STRT kit like me then :p

That sorts it out :p

Lol. Yeah I am sure they would help things in the handling department, but I am not going to spend any money on the 1.6 other than essentials like regular servicing to be honest :)

To be fair, one thing I love about it is that it rides and handles as a "normal" car.
