Apparantly they were bought up by KW in the Autumn and will now be used as their budget product, with weitec moving into the mid range market
 
It's been about 3 months since I fitted my AP coilovers and I can't complain. Ride height slightly stiffer as expected and provides a tidy drop for the price. Only negative in my opinion is that the rear rides slightly too high when wound all the way down but theres no problems with the actual workings of the unit. I'd give it a thumbs up as it's a great bit of kit for the price.
 
Yeh the back end adjustor is in place. Considered pulling them out but wasn't sure what the result would be as it might screw something up. Might pull them out for a trial run on tue as I'm borrowing my friends 9" rims to see how they fit. Any experience on removing adjustors?

So kw, ap and weitec are all one and the same. Which one is the top brand then kw?
 
It would be interesting to see how they compare with my KW V1 setup actually, bearing in mind they're nearly half the cost.
 
When I bought mine last week, I was told that the price for the AP's was going up in the new year!
Also was told that KW have bought AP and that the AP was going to be there new 'Weitec' range BUT still carrying the 'AP' name.

So the line is gonna be

Starter range - AP

Mid range - Weitec

Top range- KW

I can only imagine the prices for Weitec and KW are gonna rise!!!
 
How do you find the ride quality is it a LOT harder than standard?

What is the quality like did you slap loads of grease on them?

Are they oil or gas shocks?

Looking toget some for my Fabia 2nd Jan for a 50mm drop.
 
Ive got them on mine, and whilst they need adjusting (back it a touch high, front a touch low(for commuting)) they are fairly impressive. Over multiple small bumps you can get a bit of bobbing (no more than other coilovers though).

Next trackday is Feb 21st, so thats when they will be used in vain and wound right down.
The car certainly puts the power down alot better now, and im actually quite pleased. The ride is pretty much the same as the standard cupra, albeit a lot lower in stance.

You dont get the spanners with the kit to adjust it however. So you will need to add that into the price if you want to do it yourself. AMD are getting me a price for these when the AP factory reopens.

I purchased mine from venommotorsport and came with the C spanner needed for adjusting.
 
Are droplinks included with the kit? Or did they need to be bought separetly? Also, do they go low enough to put it on its arse?!?! Anybody taken helper springs and adjuster cups out?
