I have serched but when you type in new wheels there are hundreds of threads.
This may be a stupid question to some but going to ask it anyway. (better safe then sorry and all that)! :)
I have the standard wheels at the mo and am away to get myself some new wheels with 205/40/17.
So others who have this size of wheels fitted, do you need spacers? Do thay rub at all??

PS: standard suspension!

Cheers!

i have 215/40/17 on mine with standard suspension and not spacers and they are fine. Lock to lock there is no rubbing and can get 3 average sized people in the back fine with no probs...not tried 3 heafers yet;)

the noly way we can really help you out with this is if you tell us how wide the wheels are and what offset.

otherwise we're just poking in the dark

if you havent got the wheels ask whoever you're getting them from what the offset is, if you have then it'll be written on the wheel, probably on the back of the wheel or under the center cap if there is one.

exactly.

35-37 is same as stock. 17's in 7" won't rub, although they do on mine in tight corners, but I have mine dropped by about 6-7cm on coilies.

you're right I was unclear in my post.

I meant to say that if you opt for 17" 7" wide wheels with offset between 35-37 you won't get rubbing issues unless you absolutely slam it, it will rub on full turn like mine does :)

no problems here.

i have same size wheels. got 20mm rears spacers, and none on front. nothad a problem yet wi full lock. as said, sill ET may affect that tho ;)

I have spoken to the wheel site and thay have advised the offset is 40?

See some replys saying 35-37 is fine, will 40 be ok?

Thanks!!

NO!

the higher you go with the offset, the more the wheel will fall inwards!
that means that it will be harder yet to clear suspension and possible brake upgrade!

If you opt not to go with ET 35, then go lower...meaning the wheels will fall outwards more. Do not go up!

I did with my bbs and I regret it. Now i need spacers all round to clear my coilovers.
