Just a quick one - my water level is about a cm over the indicated level, is this OK/safe for the engine?

I can't see how that would stop it...... (unless your coolant was very low)

Nope, always check my level & never low, like a horse.....kept fed and watered

Scrape the two prongs inside the bottle, should be fine after that, if not, new coolant bottle needed.

did you check the reading when cold or hot!?

the levels when cold will be lower. So that for most leons when the coolant is cold and in the middle of spec it will be above the top line when fully warmed up.

If reading was checked when hot, its fine.
If it was this level when cold, its probably ok, however it may be an idea to drop it a bit.

ok then it would be a good idea to lower the level a bit.
but unless its way above the line its not too urgent.

You need some air in the tank to allow compresion when it gets hot.
