Hello people.
I had my Leon PD150 remapped last week and it was running really well.It made 318 lbft though which initially I was worried about and now it seems I might have been right to worry.
Occassionally when driving between 3-4000rpm the revs dip from 3500 back to 3000 then back up whilst on throttle still
Is this the dreaded SLIP ??? drumroll.............................................

do you feel anything through the car like a jolt or anything?
Reason I ask is that for your revs to drop by 500 RPM whilst driving you should notice a change in speed of the vehicle too, also how quick does it drop then back up?

As Danny_Fr said, with the clutch slipping you would have the revs go up but not change in vehicle speed.

Sorry for late reply.
Its hard to describe.Maybe 500rpm is a bit of an overstatement but its easily 2-300rpm.
There is no jolt or noticeable speed loss that I've noticed. Its as if I'm making a gear change almost, looking at rev counter. Its a momentary dip then back up again.I might go out for some more testing to see if i can be more specific.
Thanks though guys :)

Sounds more like a mapping issue like a flat spot.
Best off getting your MAF changed first if you know this is suspect then if this doesn't cure it get back intouch with your mapper to see what they can do for you

Thats true, but it doesnt always happen which is the strange thing.I did the old dielectric grease on the MAF last night and startup was alot better but no time for a proper run.
I think I'll get down GSF and get a new MAF in there and report back.
Thanks for replying bud.

on a slippy clutch the revs would go up under throttle, not down. So if your running that torque, i'd expect you to experience some slip quite soon (unless your one of the minority of lucky ones)

Well its the test VW SEAT AUDI and SKODA all do, so good enough for them and its good enough for us.

Sorry James, I wasn't attacking your post and didnt mean it to sound that way.
All I meant by it not being the best test is that it doesnt prove your clutch is ok if you cant pull away, that said if you can then it is very knackered.

Well I've fitted the new MAF and she seems to be running really well (fingers crossed)
Will have to keep saving for the clutch though as this will need doing pretty soon I reckon.
James tdi:Wasn't having a go.Just misunderstood. You know how you occasionally get sarcy comments on here which are no help! So thanks for your input everyone :)
