Hi all, me asking for advice again!!!:)

I would like to sort out the handling on my LC and wish to stop the 'roll' elements as much as poss. I'm a tad fed up of having to overcompensate around corners for the distinct 'heavy handling'

After reading various threads etc i have decided that the best and most cost effective way would be to purchase an S3 s upper strut brace and front and rear ARB. (feel free to comment)

What you think guys? Which ARBs would you suggest as i hear some of you rating the front ARB from Golf R32? and some are mentioning to go for both front & back as one package, such as Eibach or whiteline.

I dont want to lower the car or make it too stiff, i'm after a nicer ride through corners etc

thanks all, i know you'll not let me down:D

wakey wakey pal!!!

:p

i have done some searching on this too,and i have found that a front arb/strut brace alone would cause understeer,so you would need a rear arb too...

ARB Bushes

Hi all...
Ive just bought a set of standard size (19mm) front ARB polybushes for my 53 plate LCR, for £26.36 from Jabbasport. I was getting a knocking at slow speeds, especially when going over uneven surfaces.
I would fit uprated ARB's front and rear at this stage, but im getting married in 5 months, so ive gotta keep it cheap at the mo! Maybe next year ill go for 22/25mm neuspeeds... Any thoughts or reviews would be greatly appreciated!

Anyway, Im fitting the new bushes on sat morn, and im gonna post a full fitting guide.
Hope this is of use to someone!

All the best,
Dan

P.S. Thank buggery all the snows gone, cos 18's are rubbish on the white stuff...;)

You'll probably want the upper and lower front struts to start with then if that's not enough get the ARBs after that... I wouldn't got straight for ARBs as they change the handling characterstics and might require adjustments elsewhere to your suspension to correct anything.

ARB's are deffinately the way you should go. The R32 21 and 23mm fronts are the LCR type ones where you need a different type (LC, MK4 Golf GTI etc).
The OEM one on the LC is 21mm but as stated about you don't have the lower strutt brace like the LCR/TT/S3 set up.
I would suggest you go for a 25mm front ARB, S3 strutt brace (both upper and lower) and a 28mm adjustable rear ARB. Couple this with good tyres and a 4 wheel alignment and you will feel a good difference without it being OTT
This lot will be quite expensive but will give you the results your after

I'd recommend ARBs only to try first. I got the Neuspeed 25 Front and 28 Rear with 4 wheel alignment on my LCR, not got the strut brace, very happy with setup. Minimal roll turning in, very stable through high speed corners, no twitchiness (is that even a word?) that believe some people can get with too stiff setup at the front.

None of the compromises associated with lowering your car, perfect handling mod for an everyday road car. Think Eibachs are prob good value for LC and should be ok as you have aftermarket exhaust. You can always add strut brace later which is what I might do, as dont think it alters cost of ARB fitting.

Uprated ARBs are great and look like a relatively low cost upgrade. Do bear in mind though that the front one especially is a complete PITA to fit and your fitting costs will not be small change. Unless you plan on fitting them yourself, Junior Senior would be the man to speak to if you're DIYing it.

Thankyou for the replies/advice everyone

I will be going for the front and rear arbs, however, i'm a bit confused about what mm i need (wether it be 25mm 24mm 23mm etc etc). Can anybody who has an LC with ARBs or anybody who knows about this pleaes give me an idea of what to order, cheers. Also has anybody had trouble with 'grinding' on speed bumps etc

oh and i'll add the upper strut brace but prob not the lower as i'm not entirely certain its necessary. (feel free to comment!)

thanks agin

Sorry Junior S and JP, overlooked your concise rundown there:doh:. You have mentioned sizes to go for etc which is great, but would you mind going into a bit more detail about the sizes please (I basically have no idea and didnt even know that the LC has an ARB as standard!?). Also what make is well rated? - Eibach/Whiteline/ neuspeed etc

What you have suggested though sounds great, i have my service with Audi so will ask them to fit strut brace(s) then maybe

thanks again

guide please!!! :d

I wouldn't get Audi to fit the ARB, they will be a small fortune.
I cannot advise fully on the LC ARB as I have a LCR
In order of most to least expensive Neuspeed, Eibach then whiteline. dunno if its worth the extra cash for the Neeuspeed one. KW also do a set of these

No way dude, i was going to get them to attach just the strut brace! I have a mate who will fit the arbs - if i need two!?, i'm still unsure as i've heard of 'grinding' issues with speed bumps etc for front arbs

would you suggest any sizes possibly? I'll have to have a look around i suppose

cheers
