Hello

Has anyone any suggestions as to why my 03 130 TDi sport's front suspension creaks really badly everytime I let the clutch out? It all seems tight enough on the 4 post lift with a crow bar although the Seat Dealer did say that the ball joints would need repalcing next service.

cheers in advance.

Mine is exactly the same - makes the same noise as you would get from walking on old squeaky floorboards - you can hear it when gently changing gear at low speeds and when you use the brakes. The dealer told me its the rear console bushes that need replacing (booked in for tuesday).

Is it more noticable when its wet / damp/ after going through a carwash??

It was worse after all of the salt was dumped on the road. Excuse me for being dim but what are rear console bushes?

Mine did it, replaced one set of bushes which were on their way out and now its fine. i have a pd130, i replaced the bushes with cupra ones as they are better! It might be that!

My mates Ibiza did this. Its the front bushes there knackered, Best way to check is push the front wheels back, And if they move alot then thats what causing it.

How do you mean push the front wheels back can you explain more? S
ee mine have been greased about a month ago and make no noise now, I have got cupra and powerflex bushes ready to replace them anyway as they are worn but think some people just need to grease them up rather than spending al that money on bush replacement.

I think the salt dries them out and makes them split...

Its difficult to explain what they are, but follow this google link and choose the first link on the page - loads of pictures of what your looking for. Although its a skoda site, the Fabia has the same running gear as the Ibiza http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=rear+console+bush+fabia&meta= Its the 7th picture down...

Aimez, mine is going through tyres like there is no tomorrow - Especially the passenger side (which is worse) where you could see the reinforcement of the tyre poking through the inside shoulder- i'm hoping that getting the bushes done will sort this and save future expense on tyres...

Okay in that extreme case then you may well be right! I will get mine done soon but I do low mileage and can afford to wait a bit longer and get it done along with coilovers as apparently you need 4 wheel alinement done after and this in itself is not cheap so don't want to get it done twice!

If u stand at the front of your car and put ur foot on the wheel and push the wheel back towards the rear of the car the wheel will move, They all do this when the bushes have finished.
