you're gonna have to be more specific that this

"a forge item" that really tells us nothing. But a stab in the dark, I would say you have a 007 fitted.
then you'll have to tell us if any lights come on, if your boost is still the same, etc etc.

get vagcom.

yeah i think it is a 007 forge one but not 100% sure as im abit of a novice....

you can still hear it when its in neutral though...well more then i can now anyway....

seems abit like airy when i rev it now...

havnt drove it yet as i dont wanna do any damge..

havnt checked the pipes yet...

wouldnt know where to start really

the slight clunk/rattle would worry me.

ohh yeah forgot to mention that clunk cud of been a nut that came off my car or was on the road as it came out the rear end as i looked back

again, explain the problem in a more elaborate way that you have. What else did you notice about the drive itself? was theer boost loss, was idling crap, etc.

then vag com.
Seeing as you have just bought this car, I strongly advise you to get a version of vagcom. with these cars its guessing, and vagcom will at least point you in the right direction.

just because your dumpvalve might sound differently, doesn;t mean the problem lies there.

Example, coilpack goes, running on 3 cylinders, boost is down = different dump sound. Get what I'm saying ;)

didnt have chance to notice as it happened right by my house just just got it in the drive and turned it off..

may take it out later for a quick blip to see if anything happens etc

but when i put it back in the garage while revving didnt sound like there was any turbo whistle or sucktion

where do i buy vagcom lead/cable and computer software etc

you won't at idle/standstill

ross-tech will sell you genuine vag com.but if you are a novice,i'd put out a plea in your area for someone with a bit more knowledge.

like I said above, there is no boost at idle so you cannot refer to that.

as said, post a help wanted in vagcom section.

or contact JJ arosa directly.

you can still hear the turbo wind up and the dv realease the pressure tho while in neutral but its not doing this anymore

has anyone got a link to a vagcom lead...

what are the ebay ones like??

just had it started quickly to move it out of the garage and sounds quite more raspy/airy now then it did before.....

doesn't sound as deep or throaty...

could be a split somewhere in the exhaust???

would that maybe be the problem with no real noise at the moment...

ill give it a small drive later to see if it feels a little bogged down due to maybe the exhaust...

im guessing that would cause it too lose pressure and not dump when revved right??

Check the connection from the TIP to the turbo at the turbo end, TIP is the silicone pipe that runs from your air filter to your turbo.

Also check the connection from the charge pipe to the turbo, charge pipe is the one that cross`s the engine from front to back.

Im betting a hose has popped off.

just had a look...

as far as i can see they look like there connected...

but too be honest i was only using a torch and theres alot of crap in the engine bay in the way

just started it again...

let it warm up then in neutral gently revved it too about 2-3k revs and it gently let a whoooosh out that is ever so quiet...

still think it maybe a pipe somewhere or something to do with the exhaust

hopefully ill get it over a pit tomorrow and have a look from underneath which hopefully will make things clearer

just remembered that when this first happened when i gave it some in first and changed to second there was a long and slowish whooooosh/dump if that makes any difference???

I'd take it for a drive, its probably a hose thats popped off somewhere, i had somethnig similar happen to mine when a pipe semi popped of the DV but rested back in place so it wasnt that obvious...difference was it wasnt dumping on the move..

I tend to disagree with you when at standstill though, when i revved it in neutral on both of the ibiza cupras i've owned you hear pretty much no dumping sound at all, just the turbo spinning up a little
