Been given a set of H&R lowering springs off a golf v6 4motion...will they fit a leon? I knoow the fronts will fit fine, but im a little unsure about the rears??

I was under the impression that as you way the fronts fit fine (as based on the mk4 chassis) but the rears are based on the a3 chassis so wont fit - although I dont know for sure. If you've got them already, then why not try them and see ?!

4 wheel drive ones are different at the rears you would need 2wd ones mate, but i think i read that they will fit but make sure the spring rates are right depending on if yours is petrol diesel 1.8t, 1.6 etc...

Ok then, if the 4wd ones are different, then i will sell them on...

They will fit. I have "Golf´s MK4 s" springs fitted on my leon cupra. They share the chassis.
They will fit A3, GOLF VR6, TDI´s, also. Its the same!!!!!. The height will change (because of the different weights) but they will fit with no issues.

I the case of a "cupra r", it is based on a different chasis so they will not fit.

there are a set of golf mk4 gti springs for sale at £10 local to me, from what i read they will fit but just to confirm, i have a seat leon cupra 1.8t 20v so will they fit my car and will it lower it in anyway?

All sport spring make you lower but based on my experience i can say this :

MK4´s (GTI or 2.0) springs on LC

H&R sport make you 1.5" lower
Neuspeed Sport (Reds) make you 2.0" lower
FK sport (what i have) make you 1.6 lower ( its enough and safe for the car on my city streets)
Koni´s (the same that h&r)

:)

PD. The oem gti´s springs make you higher!!!!!

They do actually i have a full Cupra R set up on my LC. :p

So just to clarify, the v6 4motion rear springs will not fit on my leon?

the golf mk4 two wheel drive will fit a leon, bora, a3 etc. anything based on that mk4 platform. the 4wheel drive are different on the rear and im not sure on the front, but the shocks and springs would be different on the rears 100%. shocks are longer and springs are smaller egg shaped instead of pencil type in most cases such as the r32.

the cupra r has different front shocks, the anti roll bar link attatches to the shocker on the front, where on the golf mk4 it loops over the driveshaft and back onto the lower suspension arm.

The springs will fit on the cupra shocks front and back, as will the whole shock the opnly difference is the anti roll bar mount, this is good as it give you the option to run the anti roll bars from the shocks if you want too, i read some where that they work better there than off the suspension arm.

Just took the LC suspension off and put the LCR stuff on. :D

Are you serious??????? How????? They have different suspension structure, specially the rears!!!!!!

You must be joking!!!!!

So......The LCR and LC (FWR both) have interchangable suspension????

They may not be the same, but the suspension fits, the rear is still MK4 golf on the LCR its the front hubs that are different (A3) but the hole for the strutts are the same size and it all fits in a treat.
