Hello

i been thinking about this for a while but i would like to know what you lot have.

basically i dont have a boost guage yet. but the main feature im after is the diagnostics part of the device. i dont have Vag Com and the cheap cables dont work.

what are your thought if you have these?

Depends what you after really. I use Vag-Com for diagnostics. Used to have a Scangauge 2 but didn't really find it very useful. I never had any faults on the car so no idea how well the Scangauge is at finding them. It was nice to know the intake temps but that's about it, and it didn't show boost. So I sold that and got a boost gague.

You can't beat Vag-Com for diagnostics but I'm sure the Scangauge does a good job at that if you just want fault codes (no logging, graphs etc.). If you want boost, go with a boost gague.

Cheap vag-com cables do work mate, they just take a little setting up.

I have a boost gauge and a Scangauge. Only realy got the scangauge for quick fault code reading (as I have removed the SAI, N249 and N112 valves and get the odd code from the SAI so its much faster to clear the code with the scangauge) and a few or the gauges you can have, pluss I got it very cheap ;)

I have intake temp, MAF, BHP and coolant temp as my 4 gauges showing on the scangauge.

I have an iPhone I had seen this app but wasn't to sure how to get it to work. Might look at that too

Requires the WiFi OBDII interface to work with the software.

The Kiwi looks the best solution - http://www.plxkiwi.com/kiwiwifi/hardware.html

Did a bit of searching around the net today and seems to get pretty positive reviews, and the developer appears to be active with the updates. So it should develop into something quite trick.

Its great mate. I have removed the SAI & combi valve (looks like a EGR valve), N249 & N112 valve and I get a SAI fault code every few days and can just clear it on the move with the ScanGauge, very easy :)

Not related to OBD but I have the Dynolicious app that measures 0-60 times and horsepower using the phone's accelerometers. It also shows lateral and braking/acceleration G forces. It works pretty well too.
