after some time of drivin about in my car and watchin some vids of me at the pod (doin a 1 wheel burn out before goin on the strip lol) im goin 2 get myself a diff ive looked on the quaife site and theyre 575+vat and im sure the peloquin is around the same apart from u have 2 buy a bolt kit for it, whats the difference if any between the 2 makes?

and as my standard clutch somehow is still holding out im goin 2 get the diff fitted 2 my spare box and get a new clutch and flywheel at the same time and do the lot, what clutch's will be ok for my gt28 was thinkin g60/vr6 clutch and flywheel as a cheap option but get my m8 to lighten the flywheel as he's an engineer what do u guy's think would be the best set 2 get?

I got the peloquin as it was cheaper, but now the exchange rate has changed, I dont think its a matter of that any more.

Quaife diff is a better bet imo as the Peloquins seems to have some failure problems although they say they have sorted this issue now. Quaife is a UK company aswell so might be easier to deal with if any problems come up.

The G60 flywheel upgrade would be good but I dont think the vr6 clutch would be your best bet. Uprated clutch would be much better and it seems to be take your pick apart from Spec. Think there is a group buy in the INA section.

ye did hear of the bolt issue with the peloquin diffs but only off a few people would rather a quaife as theyve been doin this stuff for a while and are uk based so any probs i can sort it out a bit easier,

as for the clutch i bought a spec clutch and westec perfomance never fitted it they fitted a standard clutch and must of sold my 1 on as it went a year later and i ripped the box out 2 find a dual mass instead of some nice single mass clutch and surprise surprise they went bust glad theyre not about now as i prob would have burned the place 2 the ground as i paid over 550 quid for it, so i want a clutch which i can put in and not have any issues with it i.e. dont want 2 be pullin it out a year down the line what about an upgraded vr clutch as u can get these at around 300 quid and then get an abf flywheel,

They never fitted a spec clucth you bought? WTF!

I think by the time you buy the diff bolts for the Peloquin and the crap exchange rate now its probably better to go for the Quaife.

I meant get an uprated clutch for the g60/abf flywheel ie spec, southbend, sachs. Southbend seem to be getting some good praise and there is a group buy in the INA section. I would avoid spec as they have problems and the warranty is poor at best!

I bought my Peloquin diff about 4 years ago when the exchange rate was good. But i've not fitted it yet, what's the score with the bolts?

Make sure you buy the uprated bolts now, might do an exchange for you if you are lucky as yours are not used but it was a long time ago.

There's fastener shop local to me so I'll pop in there and get some hardened replacements.

Should I also replace all the bolts for G60 clutch and flywheel conversion?

You need to have the uprated Peloquin bolts or warranty is worthless. You use different bolts for the G60 flywheel and vr6 etc clutch than you do to the dual mass flywheel and clutch but the bolts are standard vw parts.

But if they never supplied me with uprated bolts it won't affect my warranty?

Yeah i know i've already got them from Jabba but I was meaning that i was going to replace these with toughened items.

Yes because you are fitting after they released them and all they will do if it fails is say you need to use their uprated bolts and fob you off. Why not just get the uprated bolts from jabba as they are a dealer?

Dont need uprated bolts for the flywheel and clutch. Standard vw items are fine.

And don't forget to get your ring gear grinded flat as they like to use this as a possible cause of bolts failing.

after reading all this about peloquin bolts i feel like my peloquin setup is like a timebomb waiting to go pop:doh:

its done around 30k hard miles so far

For "peace in mind" a friend of me has fitted a lot of pelaquin diffs over the past years and he´s never heard of any of this problems with the bolts.

The failures that peeps on here reports could have something to do with the fitting as its important to stick with the rigth torque and use locktight.
