Today I fitted a MK5 Golf battery cover.

Did you have to disconnect the batter to do this? I am tempted to do this and I have to change the battery bracket underneath as well (one of the points that holds in the air box has broken off)

I did disconect the battery, however there is no radio code to enter as the head unit has an auto pair system that re-pairs it to the car (as long as it's re-pairing to the same car) once the battery is conected again.

If you have slim hands you can prob fit this without disconecting the battery.

Slim hands....definitely not me. I have an aftermarket radio in mines so it should work the same I hope.

don't think it'll fit the arosa as it doesn't have the same battery tray setup.

Did this mod last month too very easy. Rip out that felt cover. Undo battery clamp, lift out battery. clip in the 3 parts. then bang the battery and clamp back on. Job's a good'un!

Did this mod myself after finding it elsewhere on the forum.

Two things I found on my 2.0 TFSI FR
The battery + terminal itself had a slip on cover which I had to remove so that the new battery box closed

When I reconnected the battery and started up I had a number of warning lights come on, all of these disappeared after driving a short distance.

it was also cheaper from Skoda no doubt cheaper again from any TPS branch.
