My drivers side lock has stopped operating properly for some reason. When I try to unlock the car all that happens is the barrel turns but then it doesn't unlock (There is no noise or anything). To unlock the car I have to unlock on the passenger side.

However when locking I am able to lock all doors from the drivers side. I can't understand why I can lock but not unlock.

Has anyone had similar problems or know the remedy?

It's becoming very annoying!! [:@]

Unfortuantely i think it's going to be a case of removing the door card and looking to see what's happening.

Yeh I have the door card off already due to the drivers side electric window motor packing up last month.

Its hard to see anything due to its position but there is nothing obvious that looks broken. I can see the barrel turning but difficult to know what your're looking for

look inside the door edge there is a small grommet - pop that off and undo the allen bolt to release the handle from outside

check to see what's broken first as there is a hook time and a clip type (like above)

favourite one is the loops breaks off the end

IF you do get the barrel come out with the key DO NOT pull the key out unless you put the barrel back in first otherwise you will be screaming for help :):)
