I'm leaving for the ring oin the morning and the caliper is leaking out of the bleed nipple. Anyone had this problem? The nipple undos halfway but then wont loosen anymore. Where would i get a new brembo caliper???????????? please help

~£500 from the dealers..... :( a specialist might be able to remove the nipple, retap the thread (the next size up) and put a new nipple in?

rite. I cant believe this has happened the night b4 i go! Would the main dealer have them in stock do you think?

damn, thats a pretty stressful thing to happen the day before, best of luck with the replacement, but I wouldnt be too optomistic about the dealer having one in stock - its not really a service part and they may have to order.

Give Dave at sere motors a ring , he is listed on the dealers list he can get the calipers for £250 each, i have just had a repair on my caliper done for exactly the same reason.

Northern Ireland. He can normally get parts shipped out next day though

he is in Northern Ireland, i doubt he will have one in stock, you cant retap to the next size up, there isn't one, i had to have the nipple hole drilled out, tapped, and a sleeve screwed in and that tapped to the original size of the nipple. i think you will struggle to sort this in time.

Yeah - its not looking good to sort for the morning unless the op has access to a mc shop. You are right about it requiring a sleeve but at a push it could be drilled out and tapped to a size to take the sleeve but then fit a bolt to plug the hole. It will be messy bleeding it and it all hinges on access to the right equipment. And with the bolt not having the correct taper to seal at the bottom of the nipple hole it would rely on a good seal on the thread and I'm not sure I'd want to trust that round the ring.

We've just got the nipple out. 1hr and a half with four going at it. My mates have gone into work to get a tap and bolt. Just going to have to plug it! Thank god for engineers a! Fingers crossed. Al let you know how i get on. Thanks for your help guys. Oh yeah and the neighbours must hate us, everyone has got the windows open because its so hot!

Helicoil existing hole, kits come with bigger drill and tap and tool for inserting coils, but remember to remove lug used to insert otherwise nipple wont fit back in

we finished it last night at 3 oclock. What a pain in the arse. Took 3 hrs to get the old nipple out. then we drilled the hole out a size up then retapped it and put a bolt in it. Utter nightmare.

No dont say that... I drove home last night (11miles) And its dry as a bone so fingers crossed if it was going to start leaking would of done so by then?

Yup it should have if it was going to.
The best way to try it is to make sure its totally dry, start the car and depress the brake pedal for about 1 minute (max) this will pressure test this connection to give you that warm fuzzy feeling that everything is okay. If you press the pedal for longer you have a chance of damage to ABS pump.
Hope this helps
