1.8t cupra 60mph in second gear?

I know the leon boys n girls have to change to 3rd before getting to 60 but I am positive that I would not have to as speedo is showing 60, no where near the redline. Any one else noticed this?

Yep, 60+ in 2nd gear in mine too.

That vid is at a funny angle, paralax error I think its called. looks about 63mph, think if I were to do that in the ibiza it would be alot closer to 65-70. If I fancied going to the redline. Theres alot of debate among the mk1 leon owners but I think the mk2's are agreed you need 3rd gear for 60.

I`m not sure but with my fr (1.8t) I can get to around 120km/h in second gear. I must say it is remaped and I had removed the rev limiter.... I will see if I can post a clip with that....

Std cupra, mine will do 65 in second no worries!!

I love the long gearing to be honest, one of the better things of the car

Also think that the 0-60 time on the std cupra is less than the book figure, anyone clocked this??

all 0-60 times are slower in the book...this is because when they do the test the engine starts from complete stand-still, no burnout or engine revving (which gives you a lil head-start)

i also believe the test is generic, i.e. they don't actually bother getting someone to drive it down a stretch (unless it's a supercar or it's on Top Gear)

Its all done on a rolling road. with half tank of fuel and equiverlant of a pasenger iirc.

my FR is quicker than 8 seconds to 60, and it does 65ish in second gear, thats not hitting the redline either.
