How hard are these to change?
Noticed whilst doing my oil the dipstick housing had a load of oil round the bottom, looked like it was dripping lightly from there too.
Tried pushing it down, couldn't do it in the end, even with pliers.
May pop into the vag specialist by work tomorrow.

Just another question, my oil leak is getting pretty bad now, Looks like its definatley coming from round the dipstick area... How do these detach from the sump?
Dose anyone have a technical diagram of it?

Yeah, the top plastic part on mine is fine, its the metal bit at the bottom going into the block thats the problem.
Are they hard to replace?
you may need to go under the car to check, asume its screwed in,

Im at the end of my teather with it now, its cost me over a grand within 30days on parts!

Dipstick tube?
Hello all
Mine snapped of yesterday ,,nightmare panic.. just read some of your messages and they put my mind to rest ,, i thought the car would p*** out oil but ive checked it this morning and it's been fine phoned seat this morning part here tomorrow
Does the bottom twist of or what ? mines totally snapped in 2 places
Never fitted one before all my other cars have been metal not plastic stupid idea

Just have to yank it off. Make sure you don't break the plastic away so that you can't get to it... And try not to drop anything in!
