I'm going to be purchasing some coilovers soon, just need some info first before i decide which ones to buy. I've been looking at the AP ones and the weitec ones. I want the arches to be online with the tyres if not in the arches. Will i need shorter droplinks? I've heard the AP ones dont go that low on the back, is this true?

I've got the AP coilovers, wound fully down with adjusters in on the back and wound down to a functional but decent looking height on the front, still with standard drop links.

Heres a side shot of mine sitting on AP coilovers, rears as far down as possible with adjusters out

A question as well sorry to hijack, does shorter droplinks mean a lower ride height? I haven't changed mine yet

The Weitec's and the AP's lower pretty much the same but with the special offer on the Weitec's at the moment, they're definately the ones to go for.

You dont need shorter links on the AP or weitec due to the design of the mounting, it is raised to to clear the driveshaft.

I have the adjusters out and the springs sat on the black cup things but the springs sit awkwardly and its a bit bouncy, but with adjusters its just too high

most coilovers give the same adjustment and the rears never go that low anyway, im running weitech, there as low as poss rear and still got 10mm adjustment on the front, about the drop links you only need to replace them dependin how low you want to go, if you slame it the rub on the drive shafts, ill post some pics of mine when im allowed!

they all run around the same too, as there all fixed rate dampers, i was running ap's before there alright just dont rate the build quality of them! dont just buy because there cheap, its worth spendin a few extra quid and gettin something descent.

My AP's are pretty good ride quality. I'd say similar to an OEM sports setup in the firmness/comfort, but with adjustable height. Setup with a Whiteline RARB and Forge Front Strut Brace and handling is pretty good.
