Cambelt Tensioner - I was lucky!!!

Got a new cambelt kit fitted in Dec 08, even though my LCR had only done 36k (5 years old).

9 months on and the tensioner failed!!! Lucky for me I heard something was up and investigated before it fecked the engine.

Lesson learnt = Hear a noise, check it out!!!

New genuine timing belt kit fitted and i'm back on the road.

Hi Mate,

No it was part of an after market ECS kit.

But to be fair all the parts in the ECS kit were top quality, I was just unlucky that it failed.

But lucky i noticed!!

What was the noise that you heard that alerted you?

The noise was the cambelt hitting the cambelt plastic cover! I thought it was the under tray or engine cover that had come loose at first.
