Hi, i'm considering swapping the gearknob in my "54" plate cupra for the newer version that's fitted to a "57" plate i've seen, just wondering if the newer item's likely to fit... before i order one..

Yea, it's a straight swap. There are a few threads describing the proceedure.

I fitted a leather Leon sport one to my 1.4 TDI, that too was a straight swap and looked good too.
