anyone ever noticed that vag cars hate screenwash that isnt seat....my washers will not push out anything other than which is a problem as i have run out of vag stuff.....it will rarey work with other stuff like asda, homebase, halfords.....

my bro said u are only meant to use vag stuff on the ibiza, as any other stuff crystalises in the lines.....

i was on my way to glasgow yesterday and in these conditions windows gets covered easily, stopped at an asda, ran in and bought screenwash and a big bolle of water and filled the car up, came to spray and nothin, pumps are making the noise but nothing comes out, had to pour the rest of the bottle of water over the window and just get by with that, still not working today?

rozen lines perhaps? a blackage? or does this shi** just not work on vag cars

Agree..... joys of cold weather. I tend to find that the screenwash usually starts working just as I'm pulling up to my destination!!!

It will just be frozen.

How can the jets know its now VAG stuff? Its just antifreez and detergent. Just put more of the cheaper stuff in...

Renaults perfumated stuff works well and smells good too albeit it is pink though, very high in alcohol content i'm told

LOL I`ve had vag cars for 10 years and never used vag stuff!

AUTO-GLYM quick clear (the pink stuff) at about 10-1 ratio - the best.

But you need good wipers though ;)

Does the Ibiza have 'fan jets'? I know that if you don't use OEM VAG washer fluid, Skoda will refuse to repair the jets under warranty if you have a problem with them.

Having said that I use Halfords Double Concentrated stuff with no problems. If it gets really cold I add a bit of industrial IPA (IsoPropyl Alcohol) to the mix.

Mine are...? lol. In the handbook it says there automatically activated when the temp drops below a certain level. There definitely heated.

What year is your's? Cant say I've ever read my hand book before, but my washer bottle has defo frozen over before....

Its a 2006 facelift. Ive not really looked at the mechanics of it, i reckon the water is heated just before it leaves the nozzle, rather than the bottle being heated.
