popping

right im new to deisels and turbos
and i have noticed a popping noise when i turn the engine off 110 tdi leon (engine standard)
it happens nearly every time i turn the engine off its just one pop
anyone konow what this is ?

Yeh sounds about right. Its like a sucking noise for a split second as the vacuum pressure is released from the antishudder valve diaphram.

hmmmm, mine has never done this! is that a good or bad thing?

its very quiet and i can only hear it if im out of the car or have the window open

I'll give it a little listen tonight. Car & engine's fine so maybe I'm just a little deaf after listening to the radio too loud when I switch engine off!
