cambelt question

cars going in monday for the waterpump and cambelt change.. iv been told that the car shouldnt be pushed to any limits for a while after cambelts been done? how long is recommended to go easy and careful, not that im not all the time

Never heard that before, belt is never going to be stronger than when its brand new.

yep. first thing i did after changing the belt and pump, i warmed it up an checked oil/coolant levels and gave it maximum beans!

yeah as above, as long as coolant is ok it will be fine.

Was told mine had been done but its the only thing im missing from service history and my belt doesnt look 10k miles old so im not convinced

the tensoner is more expensive than the belt!

iv been told im looking at between 200 - 300 for New water pump and the cambelt done

Awesome GTI did mines for £340 for a cambelt and waterpump change, would highly recommend them, the service was superb.

mine cost £165 for belt and tensioners ,water pump with metal impellor ,5ltrs of antifreeze and a new alternater belt did it myself tho.
