I finally got a chance to take an new CR FR with DSG fitted. It was a very impressive bit of kit etc etc.....................
excellent bit of info on the latest Cr FR which im now waiting for after placing an order.
its helped me to feel comfortable ordering the car that ive never driven.
one thing to condsider is this, when having a spirited drive i generally keep my hands at quarter to three (in my A6 avant with tiptronic buttons on the wheel)....and in general your hands can stay there for almost every corner your likely to contend with. so for me id be happy with not crossing hands and losing the paaddles position...
if im in town and taking junctions etc where id be crossing hands much more regularly id probably be in lazy auto mode as i do with the audi i have now....tiptronic or in this case DSG paddles will be used for spirited drives and flying thro the millions of roundabouts we seem to contend with these days.
i remember driving croft once in my DC5 integra and the instructor reminded me that the hairpain before the start finish straight is one of the tightest bends on a UK track where you need cross hands and deviate away from the quarter to three, but thats very rare.
for me the pro's of quarter to three posistion with ability to change gear while having a spirited run far outweigh the con's....of which i cant see any....but my tiptronic has made me never want manual again
