expensive is what i suspect they will be
tirerack in usa has 235-40-17 at £190/tyre before tax after import freight costs
:(

The Hankook RS2's have just dropped in price to £115 each so still not sure, the Goodyear F1 Assy is still £100 so will be £60 cheaper for 4 tyres. So my shortlist is:

1. Hankook RS2 - £460 for 4.
2. Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT - £440 for 4.
3. Goodyear F1 Assy - £400 for 4.
4. Yokohama Parada 2 - £365 for 4.

They have Dupont kevlar in the sidewalls and a strengthened bead as well, so yes I think the sidewalls will be pretty stiff - but they seem to get mixed reviews (as do most tyres). The compound is supposed to be good as it says: "Maxx TT also features a motor sport derived compound with nanoparticles and Touch Technology."

Same for the Yokohama Paradas, some people love them but some hate them.

Well it seems that the Goodyear factory have some kind of manufacturing problem so the Asymmetrics won't be available until May sometime. So if I can't get them, will have to choose something else.

Or I can just abuse the Falkens until they're worn out! :D

Yeah I was told by my local Protyre that the F1 assy's are waiting on another production run in April so aren't available unless someone has some in stock. I managed to get some from Mytyres last month and think they're easily the best tyres I've had so far out of Pzero Rosso's (OK), GSD3's (great when new but wear strangely and noisy) and Goodyear excellence (sh*t).

The assy's have so far had excellent grip in dry and wet, very quiet, and the right amount of responsiveness and flex (not soft and squidgy but not rock hard so you feel every road imperfection). Only problem I had was I got a screw in one just 1 week after getting them and had to have it sent off for repair as I couldn't get a replacement :(

After driving a car with the Hankooks fitted I can say they impressed me. Much less wheel spin in 1st and 2nd than the old Conti SC3's and twice as good in the wet. They seem to have quite a stiff sidewall too. The car is at a trackday at Bedford tomorrow so I will get his feedback about the tyres on Tuesday.

Will be interesting to see what you think of these on the track.
What other tyres have you used on the track and how did you find them.
Also Ibiza would perform differently on tyre to what the Lardy assed Leon will

The tyres were on a mk6 gti. I always use R888's on the Ibiza. Got a spare set i love them that much. Used to use the t1-r's on my winter wheels and they were quite good. The derv has Dunlop sp9000's on it and they are fantastic tyres even on the stretch. I throw that thing all over the place on the way to work and it corners just as well in the wet as the dry.

I will prob put some RS2's on the Altea when I can afford some new wheels for it.

Just stay away from the Paradas. Evil tyres that cant cope with the wet, dry or any cars with power.

Most reviews I've read about the Parada's all say they are awesome in the dry, good on trackdays but poor in the wet (who drives hard in the wet anyway). They seem very popular with modified car owners. They are also £100 cheaper than the RS2's - £360 for 4 Vs £460 for 4.
