My 3GS connects no problem and does the disconnect/reconnect thing randomly.

The issue I have at the moment is getting an extension lead "that works" to connect from the IPOD dock below the seat to allow the IPOD to sit in the front cupholder to allow for passenger selection of tunes on the move rather than removing the phone from the dock to change to something you actually want to listen to.

I got one online.. something like £6

infact.. even cheaper now.. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.30394

Got the bluetooth working after a reformat, a restart probably would have worked too..

Ah well, got rid of loads of crap that i was too lazy to delete otherwise :)

So all is good in the world, cheers all :)

Now to decide what else to buy thats shiny.....

I know there is another long running thread in another section of this forum concerning bluetooth compatability, but does anyone know how I can get an up to date list of phones that will work (including the phone book) in a new Leon FR with bluetooth?

I've just had a new Leon FR, with bluetooth, only to find that my LG phone cannot use the phonebook facility. My phone is now over 3 years old and so I could consider getting a new phone. Are there any makes of phone where whichever new model I buy it will fully work with my bluetooth?

I put a little write-up about this here. Works alright for me :D

I have the same problem with the iphone 3gs.... 3G and 2G have no problems with dropouts.

That leads me to believe 1 thing. The jailbreak for the iphone on the 3gs is the culprit.

Nope. The 3gs is just a bit crap in terms of bluetooth connectivity.

My iPhone 3g never dropped once. My 3gs drops at least once per week, sometimes more. Sometimes it will reconnect automatically, othertimes I have to forget the car and re-search.

Neither of my phones were Jailbroke.

Does anyone have a make and model number of the communications system?

Might be worth a call to the manufacturer to see if there is a fireware flash available?

I have the 3G and it doesn't drop out whilst driving etc. That is jailbroken. It occasionally will not pair to the car at all, which can be sorted by either restarting the phone, or if that doesn't work repairing. I probably have this once every 6-8 months.

The problem lies with the phone, not the car. Otherwise restarting the car would help but it doesn't.

Iphone firmware is 3.1.3 (latest i believe)

It pairs to my motorolla handsfree kit, just refuses to like the leon built in bluetooth.

My samsung however will pair to the leon no problem.

Just wondering if its all 3g phones or if 3g S is the same or will work.

Guess i'll need to find other people with 3G iphones to check.

For the compatability list, i wasn't able to find one for the leon at all, very little details seem to be available on it on the best of days.

When did you buy the iPhone?
I wonder if they've released Bluetooth on a different protocol which the system can;t operate...?

Although I don't seem to be able to obtain a list of which phones are fully compatable with seat bluetooth in my new Lean FR, various bits of research seem to suggest that any Samsung phone will be OK. Can anyone confirm this before I buy one.

If I do I don't know which one to go for. At the moment it sems to be a choice between Samsung Jet and Samsung Tocco. Anyone got any advice to help me make a decision. It's so annoying having paid the extra for bluetooth and then finding that my LG phone is not fully compatable.

I Had a Samsung jet, but was always dropping my bluetooth connection, Ended up buying a sony c902 never lost a conection since. Must of been somthing to do with the samsung bluetooth version???

I have the normal 3G (not the S version).
It has worked from day 1 with my FR's Bluetooth, no issues, and no dropouts.
The phone is still on 02 and hasn't been modified.

Wonder if after a certain date the iPhone was manufactured with a different Bluetooth chip/module, which for whatever reason causes issues, compared to an earlier version?

I guess we will never really know that for sure, but for other manufacturer mobiles to work fine with the recipients SEAT Leon bluetooth, defo points to an iPhone issue and not the car (stating the obvious now). :)

Thanks for the link jrsmooth.

I already have a charging module, got it from ebay for £10, I'm thinking my lead is shot as both my Iphone 3GS and my IPOD Touch will not work over it, but will work if connected directly.

I am sure you have tried this, but I discovered that if you plug the charge adapter straight into the Seat Dock then the cable will not work properly. Does your cable work without the charge adapter? I had to put the charge adapter to the end of the cable.

Where did you get your items from?

Sorry for the delay, no the cable does not work with-out the adapter.

It charges with the adapter and cable, but to get my tunes throught the cars speakers I have to remove the cable.

Hello, right I have just bought a 12plate seat Leon FR, and can't seem to get my phone to pick the cars Bluetooth up, I have made sure it is turned in in the car, just wondering is there a nack on how to get the phone to pick up the connection and pair?

The car is always discoverable and you should be able to see it when you search for bluetooth devices.
