Splitter on an LCR225 - confused

An extra pair of hands will help.

The hardest bit (once you get the old one off, use some big pliers for this, you'll destroy your hands if you try it that way) is getting the two central posts into the underside of the bumper. I ended up doing it with the jack from the boot, got my mate to hold the top of the post in place and wound the jack up directly underneath it to push it through the hole into the bumper.

Once both of these are done you just bend the wings forward and starting from the middle push them into the lip on the bottom of the bumper.

Thank God, I read your post before putting it on.
Would have taken ages to put it on with out the jack.
I wound the jack up, so that it looked like the bumper would crack, gave it a wiggle (only little mind), and done within 5 minutes.

No worries The only way I could think of besides a jack to get enough pressure to push the posts into the bumper would have been to get the car up on ramps or a lift and hammer it, then running the risk of the splitter or bumper breaking. Glad you're sorted anyway.

Use a long bar as a lever, stick it under the front a couple of feet, line it up with the splitter lugs and pull the end sticking out from the car upwards.. Forces the lugs in nicely.
