I have an Ibiza 1.4 sport. It is absolutely bog standard, I have not done anything to it. I'm wanting to make it a lot faster. Anyone want to give there idea on what I can do to my car and where to get it done. Thanks (y).
By the way I do not know anything about upgrading cars so I would appriciate as much information as possible :)

I also have a 1.4 (Not the sport 2003 model) I'm afraid, you won't be able to get much from it, as many people on here will tell you, minimal gains with high costs. Best bet is to save for your next car.

Ideas though:

Induction Kit (Cold Air)
Cat Bat Exhaust System or Full System
Re-map - About £200 for about 4Bhp

Others would suggest as performance can't be moded highly, to work on the handling of the car:

Coilovers
Alloy Wheels
Bigger/Better brakes

But it just depends on how much money you have floating around really

I've talked to a mechanic and he has reccomended Kent cams & a 4-2-1 manifold. He said it will as quick as a 1.6 fr. Anyone know if this is true ?

My mate has a 1.4 P Reg corsa sport. It is fast as f**k. Blows 2.0 Audi A3's. It's only a 1.4 & he doesn't know what has been done to it as he bought it like that. So there must be something I can
do with my car if someone has managed that with a sh**ty corsa.

Would a 1.8T Cupra engine fit ?
Or what about the 1.9 Cupra TDI, can you change a petrol to a diesel ? Or is that a stupid question haha.

And I forgot I have a new exhaust on. Not a full system
just a new backbox and tip

I'm thinking about getting an old shape leon 1.9 150ps TDI. The plus model that comes with the cupra body kit and stuff. Unless someone can come up with a way to increase the speed of my 1.4 Ibiza.

Anyone know if Kent cams & a 4-2-1 manifold would make difference ?

This thread is hysterical from start to finish.
As fast as a 1.6 FR? - There has never been one, Theres a 1.8 Turbo'd FR
Also theres no way... Not even a slim chance that a 2.0 TFSI would be left behind by a 1.4 Vauxhall Corsa

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news friend but why are you spending all of this money on "Cams" and manifolds? Why dont you just buy an 1.8T FR or a Cupra?

The money your talking is substantial for gains that wouldn't even match a 1.4TDI with a remap...

Doesn't say tsi a3's. They just do a 2.0 one but it's slow anyway lol. You could give the guys at piper a ring and see if there's out they can do with your cams. Which there will be they did with our track fiesta.
No one has done anything to 1.4's cos everyone just buys the faster model lol. Like I said bertrum has a 120 hp 1.4 Ibiza. And he's got a supercharger lined up for it.

This is my first car so I'd rather not spend all that money on insurance. I've been driving only 8 month so it would cost a fortune. & yeah, Ive been in the car with him, it does 145mph. It's a 1.4 corsa sport on a P reg. & I ment 1.8, f*k knos y I said 6.
Been told the polo gti manifolds fit. Anyone know where I could get hold of one of them?

You say you dont want to pay the insurance for a 1.8T, But surely doing all these mods that you are talking about will bump your insurance up quite a bit? You will be declaring them wont you?

Honestly mate save for an FR, the insurance won't be much more at all, rather than spend £1000 trying to gain 10-20bhp, add £300 extra to your insurance over 3 years and get the car you really want

Tbh, if you have only passed your test 8 months the best thing to do is to wait until you have built up some no claims. This way you can afford something like an fr ibiza and not throw away your money on a 1.4. Subtle mods is all i plan to do until i have built up my no claims!
