So Ive nearly killed my R1Rs in around 3000 miles, excellent tyres, best Ive ever used and make the GY F1 assys which I always bought before seem a bit lacklustre. Even now at min legal tread depth these tires just grip and grip once warm after 5 mins use, and I couldnt go back to a inferior tyre.

However last I heard a few months back the prices for the R1Rs have shot up and I dont really fancy paying nearly 200 notes per tyre.

So been having a quick look for a replacement and have found these for 150 notes a tyre. The yoyohama ADVAN Neova AD08, and by the sounds of it they are yokohamas equivelant of the R1R but with a better treadware rating than the R1Rs by 40.

Anyone tried these tyres? Seem to be v.popular in yank land so will give em a go!

p.s

These tyres are the ones used as by the WTCC racers so must be worth a cop one would think

I dont think either of them tyres are comparable to the R1R's.

The R1Rs have been getting great reviews anywhere ive seen them.

The Toyo T1R's are more compareable to the Parada's or Pirreliis IMO

i have got pirrellii p zero rossos all round cant fault em!

How about Parada Spec 2s? They're meant to be awesome tyres for the money.

Both summer tyres dude. Im on about trackday road tyre hybrids, basically road legal track tyres that wont try to kill me with aquaplaning when the heavens open.

I sincerely hope I never meet you on the roads!

I can only guess how you must drive to kill tyres in 3000 miles....

:drive2:

They tyres sound pretty gd mate but i dnt know anyone who has tries them!

I have parada spec 2's an they Are great for traction in the dry! I got 2 fitted etc for 220 quid! Me and my 2 mates who are both running +340bhp all use parada spec 2's.

If they tyres are better than the paradas i would definetly go for them!

Pov- being honest, do you drive like a looney tune all the time out of interest? By that I mean do you drive it like you stole it, burn up the tyres etc? It's just that 3000 miles is pretty poor even by my standards

never burn up the tyres if I can help it unless down the drag strip. It just gets driven as what its been tuned for as often as possible. We have alot of "events" down my way thats why my tyres dont last.

Usually get around 6-7k from normal summer tyres, so 3k from the R1R's is about right.

I think that you need to invest in another set of wheels and tyres to run for the track then the standard ones for the road.... How much miles have you done in total?

Guys, 3k aint too bad for R1R's, you obviously dont realise how soft the compound is. just look at the treadwear rating for them. remember its 350hp through the front wheels
