Which rear arb to balance out R32 front arb?

I am getting a 25mm neuspeed rear and intended to get an r32 23mm front to balance it out a bit. This was until I was advised against it due to the r32 arb making the car have too much understeer apparently.

However I have the s3 front and custom rear strut braces, weitec coilovers and 15mm spacers too.

So what I would like to know is, with the above setup and the rear neuspeed on stiffest, will the handling be neutral or too understeery as suggested? Should I consider a different bar up front or leave it standard? Please help!

What was the reason given for this? I have that set up and am running the rear ARB on the middle setting, in the dry the car is excellent, but i do get understeer in the wet, i am going to set the rear ARB on to the stiffest and see what happens.

Not sure what the reasoning is. Just said it would understeer too much. Put me off a bit, but I remembered a lot of people on here are fine with this setup, plus it was advised by awesome gti!

Might get a neuspeed front 22mm instead in the group buy. Not sure though

I'd ask for proof of this understeery car.
Stick with the 23mm front ARB and try and get a 28mm rear
I know for 100% fact that it doesn't understeer.

My car is so neutral its unbelievable.
No disrespect to Awesome but they are in the business of selling non VAG pieces and perhaps they don't have the experience of the 23mm front ARB.
The price difference alone would talk me into one if I was choosing

Sorry didn't mean awesome suggested it would understeer, it was someone else.

Awesome recommended a neuspeed 22mm front to go with my 25mm rear (which I already bought but not fitted).

Would you recommend to go for this (with the group buy) rather than the R32 23mm, especially as I have both upper strut braces? I don't mind the extra £50 cost if it's going to be more balanced neutral setup but I would rather slightly more predictable understeer than snappy oversteer as it's 98% a daily driver and 2% track.

TBH i'm not too sure on this.
I have the 23mm front with 28mm rear
I would doubt the 23mm front with the 25mm rear on stiffest would be very different to the 23mm front with the 28mm rear on lightest setting
I had the 28mm rear ARB with OEM front ARB and S3 front upper strutt brace.
this tended to over steer but not too badly.

so would suggest the 23 and 25 set up would be okay.

Thanks Willie. It's all a bit confusing but I will go with your advice and let you know how it feels.

I guess my rear strutt brace will help towards stiffening the rear up too so will be a bit closer again to the 28mm bar.

Cheers :)

Yup, that makes sense.

before you change your set up:

Find a bit of road you are very familiar with, check tyre pressures are correct.
Try and drive the road when no one else is there and try and remember how the car feels

change your set up and try it again and let us know what differences you feel.

the good thing about going 23mm on the front is its a bitch to change, if you find out you should have gone 28mm on the rear its very easy to change

Thread Revival. Just wandering if anyone has the part number for the R32 anti roll bar, and what is required to fit to a 03 LC

You need to drop the subframe, which is easy then get the re aligning tool or get it four wheel aligned when you have re fitted it, and as you have an LC you will need either a set of LCR shocks or an after market set with the LCR drop link mounts and a set of LCR drop links, this is because the LC has a different ARB set up than the LCR.

1J0411305AF 23mm ARB ( it will have a yellow mark on it)
N10101603 bolt X 2
1Jo411336D clip X 2
1Jo411314R bush X 2 this is the 19mm but its advised to get these.

Or would this be the same as R32 but i think this would bolt straight on to LC?

To use the R32 21 or 23mm ARB you will need a different ARB mounting point to the OEM LC one.
The LCR/S3/TT/Octavia all have the mounting points you need for the FARB.
Some after market shocks do too, the ones for the above models.

if you go R32 ARB on the LC you need all the LCR front setup. wichbones also. the R32 wil touch the LC wishbones and grind on, i know i have tryed to mount it ones, i have now the hole LCR front setup with R32 ARB ready to fit on my LC.
