Hi there

What do most people go for 35w or 55w kits?

Also which of the two would be best for H7R bulbs?

Will
Personally I'd go for the 35w kit, unless you spend lots of time in unlit country lanes or on unlit motorways. I don't so a 35w kit would be an ample improvement for me.
If I brought a HID kit from a mk3 Ibiza cupra would it fit a mk4 Ibiza sorry for stealing the posted
The Mk3 would be H7, so as long as your car takes H7 bulbs they will fit. Do you have the twin reflector headlamps on your Ibiza Mk4 (which are H7) or the single ones (which are H4)?
If you have the single ones then they won't fit.

I have a 55w kit with h7 bulbs but want to upgrade to h7r bulbs because theres a bit to much glare for my liking.

Would just like to know if h7r bulbs will be ok powered by 55w ballasts?

Can some one send me a message with a link to a dip beam hid kit for a 2004 ibiza 5000k with slim ballasts would be much appriciated. i Take it if i get a kit for H1 it will be fine are the ones on hids4u slim ones?
Cheers Phil

If you have twin headlights like the FR or Cupra then the dip is a H7 bulb - not H1

This is a slim balast kit -

You just need to tell them what K rating you want when you order

And if you have the single headlights then I believe you'll need H4... so either way you don't need H1 as far as I know!

I have an FR so its got twin headlights so itl be H7 then?

Cheers guys. Going to order them tomorrow after work i shal post up pics when ive got them fitted :)

so is BI-Xenon available on all cars if it has one bulb for DIP and MAIN beam?

HID's always confuse me lol

It is ridiculously complicated!

Bi-xenon means the dipped beam are xenon/HID (same thing) and
the main beam are halogen.

So to answer your question, the prefacelift MK4's are not bi xenon even if you change it to xenon/HID because i have been lead to believe (please correct me if i'm wrong!) prefacelift MK4's have twin element bulbs.

Meaning when you have the dipped on and put the main beam on the dipped goes off, because the main and dipped beam are on one bulb with two separate elements.

Not really that complicated :

Bi-xenon is a single HID bulb that is moved in to the high or low position by a relay.

They are designed to replace a H4 bulb and provide the high and low beam patterns.

Many companies sell H4 hid kits that are not bi-xenon - these only give you dip beam when used because there is no where to put the high beam.

The Sport, fr and cupra headlights use separate bulbs for main and dip beam - to do a full conversion you would need two HID kits ( H7 for dip and H3 for main )
Most people only convert the Dip beam with a H7 HID kit and leave the high beam as a halogen.

ok, im just askin because im thinking of buying a 02-06 Preface lift model.
and wanted to know can i get a Bi-Xenon that will work with my Low and High Beam.

Instead of buying two different xenon kits for low and high , i dont really want to have xenon dips and then the main beam being halogen (that isnt brighter)

you know?

Preface has a single H4 (i believe) and a facelift has a H7 dipped beam and H3 high beam.

Preface would need a bi-xenon I would guess where as facelift would just need the dipped beam. :)

Depends on the model.

I have a pre-facelift TDi sport and it has the twin bulb headlamps.
The pre-facelift cupra also had twin headlights and some special editions.

Part of the reason that HID is used less for high beam is the few seconds it takes to get to full brightness. Halogens are so much faster at switching on.
