May be betters car out there for same money as leon cupra R, but what we seem to forget it is a 5 door car and most of the other hot hatches are 3 door, so should we be saying is this one of the best 5 door cars.

Will say it again for the hard of hearing
MEGANE RS250
best all round car for the money and equipment and the tuning will be on par with the stage 2+ leons soon
cup version lsd standard
there are also options to keep the price down
i know people say that renaults have had their problems but none of you have driven my piece of SEAT crap that i have had for the last 2 years so thats the way im going.
oh and they look sexy :p

the megane looks great, much nicer than the last model which i had, and renault certainly know how to make hot hatches. companies like k-tec etc will make packages for the rs250 to take it as far as it wil go on the standard turbo, then probably offer conversions after that. will it tune as well as the cupra on oem turbo and internals? i would doubt it, the last megane didnt tune too high on the oem turbo either, it was more on power with the fr tfsi than the cupra.
i can see why the cupra r will sell, because people will always want the 'flagship' model, and it will sell. if i had the money id certainly consider it too, although the long term members here who have had cupras for years and have taken them to stage 2+ etc mostly seem to dismiss the r, id certainly take their views into considertion too, lots of these guys have spent a fortune on their cupras and seem to drive them very little, do yous all have other daily drivers etc? either way they all must have a lot more cash to spare than i do, so id certainly take their advice when thinking about anything like that, its why i joined the site in the first place, but its always your own decision, if you love the car then you love the car, you only live once and you might regret not getting it later

Have to say the the Renault is tempting especially as it comes with decent trick bits as standard.

I may have had my hand forced to change cars soon, and it will certainly be a consideration.

My car has 36000 miles now, and is used as a daily hack and a toy for racing - it has pretty well every bolt on you can have. I love the car, but I really dont think the R brings anything significant over what I have.

I will most likely be buying a new car soon, and I may consider another Leon, but it would be a Cupra rather than a Cupra R because there is nothing in the Cupra R over the Cupra that makes me want to spend the thousands extra over the Cupra for what is essentially a more sporty looking rear end, some shiny plastic on the seat backs and a couple of R badges.

It would however have been a different story if the much higher price tag included some Brembos, LSD, bespoke styling to the front, 300bhp off the bat and DSG.

RS Tuning are developing the map , guys in france are already seing 300+ bhp with a remap , its already been documented the internals have been beefed up and the turbo is bigger than the previous megane hence the increas of performance based on the map alone , there also has been a lot of comments about them putting out nearer 270 bhp as standard but i think its a dyno lottery.
For me it makes a cracking value for money car and the route i will be taking , plus it pisses all over the scirroco on sexiness appeal , has a lot more tricks and standard equipment and will be rarer on the roads.

Is the MEGANE RS250 3 or 5 door i have seen one in yellow dose look tasty, I hope is better built than the last megane we have a megane cc 2006 and what a load of old s... 35.000 and most off the inside has fell to bits and its not that we dont look after it, body panels made of cardboard one more year and we will be able to get shot of it.

3 door mate and next to a scirroco is miles ahead in the looks , the optional recaros are gorgeous.

Over priced , over hyped poor built car it 10grand 2 much would much rather have an s3,

You referring to the Leon or the Renault? If you mean the Leon, I would agree with it being overhyped, but probably £5k overpriced rather than £10k. Build quality seems no worse than the MK1 or MK2 Pre FL from what I saw, and both are ok in that department in my experience.
