no im running a yellow spring but with the dv in reverse, its spot on for what im running, i found on remap the green actually dropped too much bost between changes, the yellow spring reduced lag,

hmmmm, maybe i should change it. simple enough job is it, dont have to take the dump valve off do i, it can be done in situ i suppose?

with ref to the liquid gauge, its measuring before the map was 188bhp, after it measured at 201 bhp, although that was on the way home from the mappers, maybe it will go up in time as the ecu adapts?

with the liquid gauge, the instant bhp isnt as acurate as the dyno feature, , find a long drag , rolling on tickover in 3rd , and take it just before the red, you'll get quite an accurate bhp/torque output, and it'll give you an indication where you may possibly be losing power,

im averaging 218/220bhp and 235-245lbft

where as instant bhp output its floating between 210 and 225bhp

yep, 2 min job, the cylce time of the dv dropping boost will seem shorter, and you may get an odd turbo flutter every couple of weeks at very low rpm,

No, Nothing serious, mine used to do it odd times on the standard bosch dv,

it sounds like a very slight turbo stall but only at low low rpm, you can intentionally do it if you let off the power very gently after boost, , but since the compressor, isnt under a great amount of boost, it has no adverse affect on the turbo, its down to the fact there's not enough vac pressure to open the dv,

so based on the green spring pressure bein up to 15 psi and mine maxes out at 19 does that mean it is losing boost as its dumping it as the spring is too soft? Has anyone run a green with no problems on a stage 1 map?

a bit more on turbo flutter I found via google:

I'm confused! do any of you remember that whistle sound my car was making? I made some video's of it etc etc, it was 50/50, half the people who looked / listened said it was perfectly normal!? in fact some people aim for that type of sound from their turbo's etc and some of you said it's bad and were pretty sure it's the dump valve, so I changed it now to a brand new Forge 007p as above, I still get that sound?!!

Ok so here's why I'm confused, after I installed the 007p, took it for a test drive yesterday evening and the car did not boost past 0.4 to 0.5, at first I thought maybe a leak? if so thought bugger it for now I'm going to leave it until after work today, well today morning on the way to work it started to boost normal again 1.0-1.2 , well normal is 1.3-1.5 peak but that was spikes, so my question is, is it holding boost better at a constant 1.0-1.2 with the 007p and yellow spring coupled with the recent FMIC or is there a problem?

that article is scary. Lol. Think ill stick with the green, cant hurt can it.

look in the forge section, i did a post a while back and Kris posted a link to the correct spring.

No point buying the whole lot for £20 as you only need 1 spring and you dont need the spacers.

that article is speaking the truth, ............but thats talking about turbo stall, more getting a flutter between gearchanges at 15+ psi etc,

the flutter i get is at 2-3 psi, and once in a blue moon, purely down to the fact odd times the vac from the manifold isnt enough to open the dv, (note this isnt down the to spring being too strong, if this was the case it'd struggle opening at high boost ) Im overly cautious what i ever do to my LC, and looked into this, possibly removing the n249 will stop this, but its there for a reason so ive left it on, :)

would fitting a spacer on top of the green spring be like am intermediate between green and yellow maybe a lime green spring. Steely thanks for the reassurance mate. I am like you very careful so thats why i got a bit concerned.

yeah know the feeling! :)

yup id try sticking one or two spacers in and give it a try, it wont do any harm and see what seems to run best, keep an eye on between gearchanges , listen for the dump, and seem how long it takes to come onto boost when you next put your foot down,

end of he day have a play with it and see what best suits you, i always found the green from stock seemed to drop boost too eagerly, and i found i lacked the responsiveness the bosch one had, since fitting the yellow spring its been spot on,
