only 208 20VT Cupras in the country?! Future classic maybe?

I wouldnt say TDi is better, just more common ;)

The source is a friend who works for Sachs.

He has a 20V turbo...... the wife has got the TDI......

I don't know why there are two PD versions on the spreadsheet, given the source I would suggest that there was an engine component/clutch change made at some point.

I know the fuel pump was recalled very early in the Cupra TDI lifespan.

Petrol is just more exclusive cos of running costs, I wonder how many oil burners got sold as company cars? That could equate for a lot. Imagine company car tax on a 20VT lol
I think if costs were not an issue 9 out of 10 people would prefer a 20VT lump under their bonnet.

ill second that comment i think most given the choice would go for the 20vt over the diesel the only reason diesels have come up the scale so far over the years is because its apparantly better for the enviroment.

Imho its got sod all to do with the environment, its the fact that fuel prices keep going up and 50+mpg from the Diesel can t be ignored.

If people wanted to go green they would do what all the other morons jumping on the "Look at me Im saving the planet even though I still drive everywhere, live in a house without solar panels and blame everything on 4x4s" band wagon do and get a Prius even though if they actually did some research they would find that are plenty of non hybrid cars that do more mpg, dont cause mega amounts of CO2 during manufacture and dont have to have the batteries changed (and old ones disposed of) every 4 years.

Sorry................... I have issues with so called greenies! :duck:

 calm down :p
i do agree with you aswell but fuel prices have gone up and the bonuses are there for the diesel owners in running costs,so more research has gone into diesels because they apparantly benefit the enviroment more as they dont burn fuel so quick.

I think its all down to each individual, I know the Cupra TDI is as quick in day to day driving as the 20VT. For me the power delivery of the TDI is much better than that of the K1 which sits next to it on the drive.

For me costs didn't need to come into it, when I bought the Cupra TDI in 2005 I had the choice of TDI or petrol at the same cost and chose the TDI due to it's power delivery and in gear drivability (is that a word???).

The real difference between the K1's power delivery and the Cupra TDI is that in the K1 the delivery is manic from 3K onwards.

I just bought mine because it looks great and shifts ALOT more the the polo gti (which is still for sale if any ones interested) lol
I've never really been bothered about mpg, although it was expensive getting from oxford to st ives compared to the father in laws VRS :( oh well.....least mine doesnt sound like a tractor lol

and 208 petrol Cupras, didnt realise i was joining an exclusive club :) haha
