Cleaning an ibiza (inside)

Anyone find the ibiza abit of a pain to clean, the door cards especially?

When i gave it a clean inside afew weeks ago i was using my strawberry (lol) cockpit shine with a microfibre cloth and realised it just wasnt working as well as when i used to use it in my old corsa b.

I thought this time around i would give it a good clean first using some hot water with a tiny tiny tiny amount of flash in and then go over it with my cockpit shine. It took some right elbow grease to get afew marks off of the door cards! Also on the dash itself after i had done it i could see afew uneven streaks knocking around from where i had cleaned it.

The plastics seem very different to the ones used in my corsa and are abit of an arse to clean?! Anyone else find this???

Also would anyone recommend any good products for cleaning the interior plastics?

i agree its a pain in the arse, even the gap between the bottom of the front windscreen and the end of the dash because of the angle its at i cant get my hand in to clean out the dust etc... any ideas or tips

Autoglym Rubber & Vinyl care on the dash (but spray the cloth, not the plastics as it splats onto the windscreen). Buff it off, and it soaks in making the dash look like new - and dust resistant at the same time. Works on all the other plastics too - even the cheap and nasty, tacky door and central console trims. ;-)

Oh and as for dust in awkward places - use a computer keyboard 'air duster'

Baby wipes are the best dash cleaner. Don't leave a nasty shine remove marks and pick up dust well.

I usually clean the dash with water, does the job just as good and doesn't leave a streaky finish

Autoglym doesn't streak either and I only clean my plastics once a month as it repels the dust. Prior to that I had to dust it twice a week. Don't use it on the black glossy stuff tho.

mmmm I have the autoglym sruff and never used it hahahahhaa, got a whole bloody bag of the products with the car and only used the wheel cleaner and shampoo hahahahahaha. I should give it a whirl sometime.

I just wipe the dash over with a microfibre wash mit.

If there are any marks a damp cloth is perfect.

I use a microfibre cloth, right after using it to dry the car. Use megs mist and wipe when drying and it mixes with the water on the towel, smells nice too.

I'm a member on detailing world and have seen a vid of autobrites fluffy drying towels and they look amazing! got some just haven't used them yet.

They can be machine washed aswell which gets them nice and clean for next time.

biker, do you stick in any washing powder ive tried with just water and came out the same as they went in

If these are the same as eCloths etc that are used for household cleaning, you should never wash them using detergents as it ruins the micro fibres. I think they should be cleaned in very hot water with no soap etc.

Yup, washing powder is used. But I will come clean (joke) and admit I have no idea which washing powder as the wife does that...... Shame on me !
