Hi guys, as you can see im new here and appear to be in the same boat as SA12 in that im really contemplating buying an Ibiza Cupra but cant find one anywhere near to test drive. So really without wanting to hijach their thread this goes out to those cupra / bocanegra owners just asking what your overall views on the car is, DSG box etc.

Ive been told by a dealer to test a Fabia VRS or equivalent VW model as its the same box, engine set up etc which I guess makes sense but would appreciate any advice you guys have got as you drive them on a daily basis

I was worried when getting my boc that i'd miss having a gear stick in hand but i've never looked back. Love the DSG and 'flappy paddles'. Great engine, plenty of room for power with a Revo remap.

I'm sure many other members will be able to give a more detailed review lol but thats the jist of it imo.

4 words mate: you wont look back.......... nuff said heheheheheheheehe. Seriously, I have always done gears but since this car......... I am currently in a golf tdi with gears since my car went for new rear bumper, another story, and I am struggling to cope with the gears now as I live in London. I miss the paddles and dsg box with the effoertless driving and gear changes. just a genuine pleasure all round. A few ppl have had major issues with their cars and you will no doubt hear about it, me fortunately, no issues at all, apart from rear bumper............... drives like an absolute dream and I wouldn't change it for the world. Agree though, drive the fabia VRS and you will get an "idea" of what it's like.

Cheers guys, gonna test drive the Fabia tomorrow to see what I reckon. Has anyone got the styling pack spoiler on their Cupra, think i'll definately go for that but can't decide on the sideskirts, for some reason they dont seem to blend with the car.

wrong !!!!!! they look great. you just have to blank out the ends of the sideskirts. so as to blend in with the black wheel arch. and then and only then the look part of the car.............. get my driftttttttttttttt.

I've had mine about 10 days, done about 400 miles, the dsg is so easy to get into, drove wife's car saturday had to keep remembering to use the clutch!!!. Still in "running in mode" but the engine seems to compare very well with the old 1.8 Cupra, sound really good when you put foot dowm a bit. Enjoy your test drive :)

Ha, how you mean blank them out, just look at a different part?

If you look at the rear of the skirt, you will see I have made it black to look more natural with the inner wheel arch. others have just painted it white and left it at that.

Tested a Fabia today and loved it, have been offered a good price on my car and been told that there's a Speed Blue Cupra waiting that can be mine if I want, have seen a Speed Blue Ibiza and quite like the colour, jut need to make the final decision, aint seen a Cupra in that colour.....

Blue or Yellow, everything else would be about a 4 month delay.

Im gonna go for the blue one, fell in love with the colour when I saw an unregistered Leon Cupra R at the garage in speed blue, nearly did a sex wee. My old man was also on about upgrading his leon fr to a leon cupra, could be a good week for the garage!
