Hofully. My gf is currently stuck on the A12 with the missfire which has lead to no power whatsoever. Probably get the coilpacks fitted this week, then a new ecu and then hopfully engine

Agree with Andy on that one. If only there was a way we could know what day our car was built on hahahahahahaha. I always say, never buy a car that was built on a Friday or a Monday for obvious reasons. Wednesday builds are the best I think hahahahahahahahha

This is getting beyond a joke now! am so fed up.

Received the car back on 13/10 with the new engine fitted had a talk with the dealer for a few hours about how unhappy I was. I also asked for a full explanation of the break in and all I got back was, We don’t know.

Anyway I took the car away without having chance to properly inspect it (it was now dark)

Looked over it the following day to find a nice chunk missing from my passenger front alloy, and to find the engine bay in an unfinished condition. The ecu cable covers were missing, a lot of pipes hadn’t been secured back down, fixings were broken, the air box was loose, the replaced dashboard now rattles etc, etc.

Told the dealer this who said they would sort it, and they will fix the wheel as a gesture of good will. Took it back for them to sort these issues back. Not everything got sorted because the parts hadn’t arrived when I took it in, so it would have to go back again.

I was happy that my car was working again, and started to think once I've got these smaller issues Ironed out it will be fine again......

Two weeks, 400 miles after picking it up I was driving to the dealers to pick up my Insurance check for the items that had been stolen and It happened again, Warning lights on, no power, really juddery to drive and constantly misfiring[:@]. In fact I would say it was dangerous to drive but as I was only down the road so I took it to the dealers. All this with a brand new engine!

They have had it for nearly a week now, first off they found that the fuel had been contaminated by metal from somewhere so removed the tank and cleaned it, replaced the fuel level monitor (where they thought the metal was coming from???) and the fuel lines. Put it back together an still misfiring. compression tested it today and think they've found a leak from the engine, so looks like this one is now nackered too.

I'm so fed up with the whole thing, all I want is my money back but it seems I cant get that because I've had the car for around 6 months. This problem has been present on and off for 4 of them. I dont know what to do anymore. there may be an opportunity to swop it for a brand new TDI FR Ibiza with no options. But I'd feel like its second best after owning the boc with all the options (Xenons, Convenience pack, Bluetooth, Custom painted skirts and spoiler & Ipod connection)

Any Ideas on what rights I have/where I stand? I could maybe keep it but after everything that’s been done to it is it ever going to be the same. and will it ever get fixed? what’s going to happen put a new engine in it every two weeks. :(

Wouldn't it be covered by the Sale of Goods Act perhaps? Even though you've had it for 6 months, the car's obviously fubar and i'd say it's reasonable to presume it has been since "birth".

Can imagine it being a struggle/hassle but i'd be pushing for a like for like replacement or a full refund.

If you have not physically had the car for the full 6 months and the history speaks for itself, they should refund you or replace like for like as far as I am concerned. I am really sorry to hear you are having these problems as I have had no issues at all with mine and neither has Mardon and I am sure many other owners too. just a bad apple me thinks.

Does sound like a bad apple, and as much as I support dealers as they are not here to say their part they sound like a bunch of muppets tbh.

Any updates with the misfiring kb??

Yeah the dealer compression tested the engine and found a leak. They said they need another bit of equipment to carry out a more accurate test and were awaiting for it to arrive. I'm sick of chasing them for updates/an answer and haven't heard since Sat.

I'm on the verge of making a deal with another garage for a straight swap on a brand new Ibiza TDI FR.

Part of me still wants to keep it but I've had enough now. I just cant rely on it. ( Or trust what the garage are telling me)

Interestingly I spoke to the head of the service centre (who now works at another garage) and he told me when it first came in and they replaced the injectors, he's 90% sure the ones they replaced them with were also from the faulty batch code. They are known for the internal metal gause to break up and cause the misfire problem. Possibly where the metal in the fuel came from and the cause of engine damage? The annoying thing is I was told they were replaced with the New ones (by someone in my current garage) that didn't have the issue.....

Also just found out the dealer is trying to get hold of the parts to test my car from Ebay! Think that sums them up.

That's pretty pi$$ poor if that's true. Get the FR mate, non of this rattly gearbox, squeaky pump and misfire problems ;)

Have ordered the FR. Will come within the next 3-5 weeks, I get a nice little 1.2 ibiza tdi till then :-/ (With a £1000 excess :O )

Have ordered in white but not sure if I prefer the black now after seeing one on here :(

Will get some pics of my soon to be old boc up when I have made enough posts.

Just thought I'd update anyone that is interested, Stopped by the garage I bought my bocanegra from today as Id heard from the new garage it had been repaired. Was thinking I could take it to the new garage and hand over my V5 with the car.

Pulled up next to it to find it was filthy, after I had a look round it I fount 2/3rds of the front upper grill was missing (broken) and a dead pheasent inside the bumper, when I asked for the keys I also found it had covered 300+ miles since I last took it in and all this was for "testing" it?

I also found an empty packet for a phono to phono cable in the glove box, so while they were "testing" it they found the need to have their own music playing.

What a bunch of ar**holes, am now looking to take them to a small claimes court.

Will try to post some photo's
