how often does the gearbox oil need to be changed, i havnt done mine ever and have done a lot of miles should i do this???

There is no oil change interval set for the gearbox, only check-and-top-up every 20K miles. Personally, I'd think of doing it at or before 100K.

Would have been changed if its ever had a clutch? change mine every 30k as it doesnt cost a lot to do,cant believe they are never specified at a service my brother has Civic type R and they have service intervals for it

Im sure the cupra R book says change the gearbox oil every 40k miles and check every 20k thats what i do.

i dont know any vw, audi, skoda or SEAT with manual gearbox that has an interval for change gearbox oil. sorry to say that, and yes its not a bad ideer to change it anyway.

i need to be a dumb ass on here now, is there a how to any where, mine has 118K on its clock and 2 cluches have been done but cant find any thing for gear box oil change

Thanks for that Allan, I was going to ask the same question as t32er.
I presume the pd150 gearbox shares the same casing if not exactly the same box ?

i think its the same box?!?!?

the 6speed gearbox on a leon cupra or leon cupra r have a name: "02M" same gearbox, and yes its the same on the pd, just other gear ratio and so on.

if you wondering, normal all manuel gearbox after the year 1988 (vw/seat) you just top oil til its runs out the fill hole, if its a "wet" gearbox (wet like not dry).
