I have the same problem, my RNS310 (part of the media pack) plays music at a brilliant sound level, plug into the CUP connection and its very poor, I need to get it sorted.
Also can recommend Newton Abbot Seat in Devon, really good service, I'm on holiday at my dads and they have fitted me in no problems this week.

Danny.

Sounds like you have had a better dealer experience than what I have had earlier today :(

Hope you get it sorted

Time and time again I have come across this, where the Seat Tech team know of a problem but it does not appear to be circulated around the dealerships - to admit there is a problem means money to be spent. ......................................... even the dealerships have to fight their cases and the SEAT investigative s/w does not appear to be has good as other VAG marques @!#!! [ computer says noooo]

Why are these people like it? You are the customer after all. Idiots. My guys said they called them up. If they continue to be unpleasant then simply don't spend any money there anymore. Take your business elsewhere and name and shame them on here.

Well went to the dealers to day expecting them to fix the problem in around an hour ;)

Anyway after they wasted most of my afternoon transpired that they had replaced the multi-media controller and the problem was still there even though I told them last week that the problem related to the CUP connectors but it must have been in one ear and out the other

So hopefully the correct part ordered this time and back to the dealers next week

I think Ill be going somewhere else when my next service is due

That part is located behind the dashboard isn't it? Mine got replaced too. It's incredible to think that even though you told them where the fault is, they ignored you. And you were right! I would write a proper letter of complaint to SEAT UK if I were you. They bill SEAT for all warranty jobs so might have just done it to make some money regardless of the inconvenience to you.

ive got same issue with my fl FR as well. will be pointing dealers to this thread thanks

I notice your location is York. If you happen to be near Nidd Vale in Harrogate, the senior SEAT technician is aware of the issue and the correct fix. Mine was sorted there based on the experience in this thread.

This is turning into an absolute debacle!!

Had a call from Seat UK today asking if I was satisfied that my problem had been resolved last week? They had spoken with the dealer who said that all was fixed when I was at the garage last Thursday and that I was happy :wtf:

Anyway after I had calmed down I told the lady from Seat that this was not the case and that the dealer was clearly talking absolute rubbish.

She said that she would follow it up but if I'm being honest I'll believe it when it happens

So decided to ring the dealer and spoke to the person concerned short of calling him an idiot I reminded him that parts had been ordered and the MP3 issue was far from sorted!

Now been advised that parts are on back-order[:@]

There's more detail to this than I want to go into at the moment as the dealer hasn't been very good and I don't want to name and shame until it's all resolved.

Howdy..

Just fitted the iPhone adapter onto my 2009 Leon today, and I too seem to have this problem.

Has anyone had this fixed at either of the York dealerships?

Good luck getting it fixed hope you have better luck than i've had so far

Parts still on back-order

Spoken to the dealer again today and parts are still on back order and they can't even give any assurance when might be available! If anyone has any joy with their dealers can they please update the thread. For me its not just the CUP interface they also need to replace the centre console!

The technician tried to use a CUP interface from a showroom car but when trying to remove the one in my car he managed to mark the centre console and couldn't remove the interface no matter how hard he tried (I was sat in the car with him when he was doing it) he said he would order a new interface and the centre console............ this is going to run and run[:@]

Finally sorted today :D

I was originally booked in to have it done last week but couldn't get to the garage due to the snow.

If you have the same issue it's definitely the CUP interface that need replacing not anything else like the multimedia controller etc.

Same fault with my 2010 FR!!! Had the USB/AUX changed o Thursday and still the same under water sound from the left speaker :( pull ya finger out seat in crew and get it sorted!!! It's going back in next week so fingers crossed.

Would just like to add my MY10 (build jan 2010) Leon FR CR has the standard MP3 audio unit with CUP. I use the proper Seat lead (got it thrown in as part of the deal buying the car), and have tried various iPods, Iphone 3GS and a 4 and can report NO problems at all.

Hi Andy, Mines a 2010 febuary. Mines got the sat nav and the goons at Seat crew think that having the sat nav is causing the problem... Got a shock yesterday when as few weeks back they said to me that they have a couple of cars in the dealership that have the same problem. They state "The cars have now been sold to customers now so can't do the investigation work on them to find the fault". I could not believe my ears when they said the cars have been sold to people now and this wouldnt be a problem as long as they don't use the AUX/USB sockets..... Wtf!!!! Selling cars knowing that there's a fault with them!!!!! I'm going to hassle and moan to them until this is sorted as not going to carry on using my jack lead and one day get points on my liesence for using my phone!! Bought the propper Seat lead to avoid this!! I'm thinking a letter to head office as this after sales treatment is terrible!!! Will post the ball ache the give me....

Hey folks! Mine has this! It's a 59 plate Leon FR TDI CR and I thought it was the left speaker, but on radio it's fine, just when using the USB/AUX connectors the left speaker sounds muddy/non-existant.

To replace the USB/AUX part do they need to take the whole dash apart? Or is it just a clip-in part?

I think it's a fairly straight forward job, but not 100% sure as I just took mine into the dealer in the morning, and picked it up in the afternoon.
