Does anybody know where to purchase Hitachi 'E' version coil packs that ive been reading about? Complete with bolts and seals? It looks like these are the dogs by the sounds of it.

What would my original coilpacks be, on a AUQ engine?

Cheers dan.

Do you know if i can mix my coil packs without problem, i.e. i'm just thinking of buying couple of spares, which no doubt will differ from whats on, because i know my existing are not bolt on.

Ah right, not that they're any more reliable or anything then? Just I'm planning on changing all four before I get a remap in the spring (if the damn car will stop developing faults), was just going to get a set of the bolts from ECS or somewhere, think Awesome do them.

The standard style coilpacks can lift on completely stock cars too, tends to be down to the air expanding under the rubber seals on the neck of them. Engine gets hot, air expands and pops it off the top of the plug. If you cut a small groove in each seal ring (not directly above/below each other) it lets the expanding hot air escape without lifting the pack.

Only way I can see remapped cars suddenly lifting coilpacks is either due to higher head temps causing the same as above, or a sparkplug that is loose and letting exhaust past into the coilpack chamber.

The Hitatchi bolt down ones are actually a genuine part from Seat, Dave @ Sere sells them at a good price :)

Don't forget you want the seals to go under them.

tried GSF and they have in stock for £21.50 +vat, but they dont have the seals to go with, or the bolts. I can imagine bolts easy to pick up, but struggling for seal options. I wonder if seres can provide the lot up this end of town.

Thank Sal. Ive had a nosey on TPS site, but not got too far. Looks like you need to apply to be able to trade. I'l take note from adams' comments first and see if any local stealers stock them. Might even be able to just order the seals and bolts if they don't come in on price with the job lot. If I approach it the right way round, I should be able to do it without offending them. I like the GSF price!

Thanks for the info re TPS. However, just to update, Ive ordered the coilpacks from GSF today, having purchased (or should i say, ordered) the seals and bolts through local VW dealer. VW were a tad expensive on the coilpacks though.

06B905115E for the Hitachi
N10117405 for the bolts, although i'm told they are M6 x 25mm
058 905 261A for the seals.
Info hi-jacked I'm afraid, so can't take the credit. Helping hand from another website too, I think, audi, as Ive been searching high and low. Costing me £23.50 each in total, complete, plus VAT

Hold up! The bolt number may in fact be N10117403, and not 5. To be confirmed (best get both in!)
