hi there, i haven't had my leon long and its been making a noise recently after i bought it, its not been on the road for a few weeks as its in for repairs. anyway its a 2007 Leon Cupra 2.0TFSI with the BWJ engine i believe. anyway when you start the engine its ok for about 5 seconds and then a repetitive squeaking noise starts, the noise is definitely in time with the engine revs and fads away when revved as the engine noise over powers the squeak noise, hope that makes sense, its sounds as its coming from the cambelt end of the engine and the cambelt region itself. initially i thought it was the auxiliary belt but it doesnt sound like its coming anywhere from around there, i havnt yet dropped the belt of and ran it but im sure its not that anyway. anyway have not done any investigation work but thought i would ask on this forum first and see whether there are any common problems or known issues with the cambelts, covers, idler pulley or tensioner. so anyone with any ideas please let me know thanks, i personally think its a cover rubbing or a dry pulley bearing. should probably point out that the car hasnt ever had the cambelt changed and has only done 20,000k thanks

It was the bottom tensions that failed on my car and the end result was 16 bent valves
