Flange Shaft Splines Worn

The Flange shaft splines are worn where they fit in the diff (drivers side) - diagnosis from local main dealer I checked this evening definitely movement there. Estimate from Main dealer £500 - ouch AA Warranty won't cover they say fair wear & tear.
Now got to try & get the (non SEAT) Dealer I got it from to fix it I've had the Bamma 6 weeks!
Consumer Direct say I have legit claim probably got a fight on my hands as Selling dealer hasn't returned my calls receptionist says he's out will call back (yeah!)
The slack in the spline would have shown up when they MOT'd it even if it isn't a fail (?)
Anybody got experience of this I wonder if the inner stub shaft in the diff will also need replacing?

its just the inner part of the shaft, you can re-use the inner cv boot provided its not split and the flange in the gearbox should be ok its normally just the inner part of the driveshaft.
