Are you just worried about it stripping protection/wax?

Yeah that's what I was thinking, you wouldn't want it to strip your wax off once you've applied it especially if you use an expensive wax!

Autobrite claims it is LSP safe so it shouldn't strip the wax, I'm always skeptical about snowfoam though for this reason.

I bet you'll find the snowfoam dead convenient in the winter months... as long as it's not so cold the snowfoam freezes

Okay guys.. my rear light is fooked so I'm either going to buy a new one (£40-45), or I can buy a set of second hand Cupra lights for £120ish.

What shall I do?

I'm perhaps thinking they look too 'lexusy' ?

Am I better off sticking with the standard dark red?

Yeah, that's what I was commenting on

Dunno what to do...My rear drivers side boot light unit is filled with water and some of the silver lining inside is wearing away.....and is basically fooked.


Could get a replacement for £40 from David at SERE, or try and buy those Cupra lights.


Any opinions? Better with standard dark red lights, or silver Cupra ones? I think it might look a bit 'boy racer lexus style' on my car?

I'm still not entirely convinced.. I wanted to keep mine looking relatively subtle, however think that Cupra lights have a 'lexus light' style about them.

Could always 'laminex' them to look like this;

Hmm, I reckon I'm going to stick with the current ones. They look too lexusy for what I want tbh. I wanted to be more subtle than boy racer if you know what I mean..

I'll get a replacement facelift dark red, like my current one.

Chris, if you've got the money to do it, I'd do the following:

The left light is Cupra rear light with the subtle smoked tint from Lamin-X. The right one is standard.

I just think the tinted lights in the picture you provided earlier are too dark. However the above look very tasty!

If you can't really afford to do it, just get a replacement. Just my 3p.

I've decided I dont like the cupra rear lights..look kinda chavvy.

I'm buying a replacement off David at Sere motors tomorrow and may get the smoked lamin-x for mine. They are facelift red, so darker than normal anyway.

why not go to a scrap yard, bound to be a facelift ibiza in one near you and it will be a lot cheaper than £45!

Brought rear bumper from it!

Well they are about £25 from a breakers, however £40 guarantees a brand new part with no issues of cracks, condensation and it's perfectly clean. Would rather be safe than sorry.

decent scrap yards offer a guarantee that the parts are in working order, if not you get your money back. Its your money though, each to there own and all that...

£15 is well spent in my opinion if it gets you a brand new unit instead

'Working order' doesn't really specify details about dirt, scratches etc.

Chris, where did you get that 'big white sponge' that you use for doing your interior? I think it is similar to the 'Flash Magic Sponge' but i cant seem to find that anymore. It is great for leather steering wheels, as it makes it look brand new again also if your alloys have kerbing, it can clean out the dirt from the kerb marks and make them look alot better.
